Home Made Baby Food!

So, don't think that I've gone all Martha Stewart on you (although I do have a guilty pleasure of reading her magazine) but I've decided to try and made Parker's baby food! I love to cook so why not make his food too? I researched a bunch of books and sites for some great recipes and foods that fit his age and stage. It was actually pretty easy and fun. I figure while I have the drive and energy to do something like this I might as well. It kinda makes up for not being the best nurser- sort of.

So here's what I did: I went to the market (My mom suggested the farmers market but I couldn't wait till Friday) I picked up some fresh carrots, a sweet potato, a butternut squash, some cauliflower, 2 white peaches, 2 plums, 2 apples, a banana, and a pear! I steamed the veggies until they were soft, baked the squash, and peeled the fruit then placed them each, one at a time, into a little food processor! I rinsed it out in between each fruit and/or veggie. Then I poured the mashed up food into an ice cube tray and froze it. When it was good and hard I placed the cubes into little labeled zip lock baggies and returned them to the freezer. When I am ready to feed him I can simply defrost one (each cube is about a tablespoon- Parker right now will probably only eat one or two) or put some in the fridge the night before. Easy Shmeesy!
