Halloween 2012
This Halloween was sweet! Well, that is AFTER hurricane Sandy swept through the East Coast. We were hit early Halloween morning so the mayor rescheduled trick or treating for Saturday night. We were lucky and only suffered 9 days of rain and some fierce (non destructive) wind. Our power flickered on and off for a few hours but never went out. Don't worry, we were prepared! The devastation in New York and along the Eastern Sea Board is terrible and we send our prayers to those affected by the storm.
It was a somber Halloween but the community rallied on Saturday night and it was fun to go trick or treating in our cute, little town. People are all so friendly and it was crazy to realize that we hit 1/2 the town in an hour. After Parker's plastic pumpkin was filled to the brim with treats we walked to Tanner's classmate's house, had a dance party, and enjoyed sharing Parker's goods. They were all getting ready for a hotel party- teasing their hair and putting on mounds of make up. They are all so cute with Parker and we had a good night.
Parker was a race car driver. His costume was a little snug but it worked just fine. People kept asking him who his favorite NASCAR driver was and Parker would respond, "Lightening McQueen!" :-)
A few days before Halloween we attended a pumpkin carving contest at the high-school.
Spoooooky!
Parker waited patiently and ate plenty of snacks while Tanner helped carve the pumpkin.
Annnnd! He WON FIRST PLACE for his grade! He brought the pumpkin into class the next day- the winning pumpkin out of all the kindergarten kids!

We also enjoyed a Halloween event at Sinnamahoning State Park. The park rangers held crafts and games for the kids with snacks and treats and prizes as well! When the sun went down we traveled down a spooky trail in the forest. Parker freaked out when monsters jumped out at us- can't blame him! But secretly I LOVED it! I'm sooooo into Halloween! :-)

Bobbing for apples
Tanner had to show him how it's done!
Parker had to show off his vampire teeth! His cute little face kind of gives me an idea of how he's going to look with braces!
Parker took this picture of Tanner and me while we were waiting for the sun to go down and the spooky forest hike to begin...
I LOVE Halloween! Can't wait for next year!!!
