New Year's Day 2015
We wanted to try out our new stand up paddle board and the first day of 2015 was the perfect day to do so! As we were getting it all strapped on to the top of the car our good friends from Lincoln called and told us they were in town and invited us to the Spectrum for lunch! Fun! We looked like hobos since we were all un-showered and prepared for a cool beach day but that didn't stop us. We had a delicious meal at the Yard House and really enjoyed catching up with them and seeing how big their new baby has grown! Rachel and I had a blast together in Lincoln and it made me miss living up there so much. I made so many amazing friends and the small town feel was something I totally took for granted. It's nice to know that we've made such wonderful friends everywhere we've gone and I'm so happy they continue to reach out to us!
The baby had a little soaker diaper so we had fun picking out some new, cute leggings for her. She felt so special walking around the Spectrum with them on, holding her Daddy's hand. He sure does spoil her. She's pretty much got him wrapped aorund her tiny finger. And I think they both equally love it. ;-)
I sure do love these people of mine.
After the seeing our friends we had about an hour of good light before the sunset so we hopped on PCH and headed down to Dana Point. About half way there Parker asked a startling question, "Dad, did you bring the paddle?" We both looked at each other in dumbfounded silence. It was like that moment in Chrsitmas Vacation when Russ asks Clark, "Dad, did you bring a saw?" as they were driving into the middle of no where to cut down a tree for Christmas. Sooooo, we bagged that idea and pulled off at Aliso instead to let Parker play, the baby sleep (She'd fallen asleep in the car- which she rarely does) and watch the sunset.
We decided to grab some hot chocolate and pastries from Starbucks and take it to my parent's house for a little visit before heading home. There's no place I'd rather spending and evening than with my parents in the comfort of their home. And the hot chocolate was yummy! All in all the day didn't go according to plan but we were spontaneous and had a great day anyway! Here's do a fantastic 2015!!!!
