Valentine's Day 2022

Do you know what I love? I love reading chapter books to my kids at night and having Tanner come in right at bedtime and carry them off to bed. There's something super sweet about our routine. Valentine's Day this year had its ups and downs. The kids were so excited about handing out Valentine's and having parties at school that they forgot their shoes! I had to run home and bring them back to them at school. They got out of school on Friday on a total sugar high and I was prepared. I took them to Disneyland! They ran around like crazy and I continually told them to "keep their feet on the ground". We ran into Courtney and the girls, though, which was an extra special treat! We went on some rides together and even stayed to watch the fireworks. It was a great night. Parker stayed home and went to a movie night with friends.

I was also Lunar New Year. Rayleigh did a cool lantern project which said: I am thankful for my brother Jack. I appreciate how brave I am. I am lucky to have an iphone. This year, I hope I get a pet. I'm grateful for Alaina.

The kids had an excellent Lunar New Year celebration at school with dancing dragons and everything!

Clark sent this picture to Tanner- 21 years ago he busted his shoulder on his last snowboarding run and had to postpone his mission! But then, his last area was my home ward and the rest is history.

Ella's Preschool Party

Monday was Valentine's Day and the kids didn't have school but Ella had dance with Sadie and Mia and it was adorable. Then we went to Jill's for a Foam Party that April was able to throw for us! It's nice having an influencer for a friend! We had some good, clean fun! Tanner didn't make it home for dinner but that's ok. He brought me flowers and we had a low key night. Tanner woke up Sunday morning to the news that his grandfather (Monte's Dad) has passed away. Sunday was the SuperBowl and he pretty much just sat on the couch and watched it and was feeling sad. Monday, he was not his best self and it's nice to know that Valentine's Day is just a day and we can celebrate our love for each other every day. That night Rayleigh had gymnastics and the sky was bright pink when she got out! Perfect for Valentine's Day!

On Thursday, I needed the day to go so incredibly smoothly to get everything done and I DID IT!!! I took the kids to school, then took Parker to his orthodontist appointment, then back to get the kids out of school early, then down to SCC to help Parker find the college Book Store and purchase his book for his Astronomy class, then down to the Irvine Coastal kids for Parker's booster shot and the kids' 2 covid shots, then off to Disney for a treat for being so brave with their shots, then we picked up a pizza and had a really nice dinner at my parent's house, then we dropped off Parker at MCO and went to Angel's to play and pick up some snow clothes she was letting us borrow. Then we picked up Parker and went home and went to bed! We had to set our alarms for 5:30am though because the next morning we were leaving for Bear Lake! Whew! We did it and the kids were so great! I'm so proud of my little rockstars!
