Jack's 11th Birthday
HAPPY 11TH BIRTHDAY JACK!
You are now the age Harry Potter was when the story began... You are Hogwarts worthy! The friendships you make and the experiences you have from here on out will change your life. Are you ready for the adventure???
You are smart, witty, hilarious, sensitive, obedient, and creative. Anything you decide to do turns to gold. I know you don't LOVE school work and assignments, but when you put your mind to it, you blow everyone out of the water. People are drawn to you because you're cute and charismatic. And funny. I pray you will always use your power for good and bring people towards Christ. You know what you like and what you don't like which is really neat, but can also hold you back from trying new things. Like fruits and veggies!
With your sidekick, Ray, you 2 are an unstoppable force and it is my life's greatest goal to help inspire you and challenge your abilities. Your talents for music (piano especially but also with singing in MCO) perpetually grow and it's very impressive. You are on the brink of childhood and becoming and young man and I'm grateful for a front row seat to watch you grow and mature into who God wants you to be.
For your birthday this year, we did quite a bit of celebrating. After a quick follow up with Dr. Winter for my hysterectomy (all good!), we went to Sender City and then Daddy came with us to the beach! We chatted with Parker for a long time and you were able to have a really good conversation with him about doing some things that Parker loves like the racing simulator and getting a bluetooth keyboard and mouse to use with the ipad (Oh, by the way, Daddy bought you an ipad cuz you're spoiled). Parker was really happy after "hanging out with us" at the beach and talking to us all together. Also, we saw a Space X launch on the way home!
Some disgruntled employee of a paper company set the entire warehouse on fire (we need to be paid living wages!) and Eastvale was covered in ash for a few days. But a week before Jack's actual birthday, we had 5 of his friends come over for a party. I took the boys (Noah Z, Cameron, Alec, Caleb, and Lincoln, to an escape room and thankfully Alyse was working there and able to help us (we needed a lot of help) She also decorated with balloons and streamers. So sweet! The boys had a blast trying to break into a bank vault! Then we came back to our house for swimming, pizza, cake and ice cream and of course, presents! Jack got a lot of cash and was stoked!
A couple days later (Jack and Ella had soccer, I went to lunch with Bettina, no MCO, and a massage) Angel and the boys came over for swimming and tacos! Ray was a little sad to have to leave to go to a party for Sofia at the park, but came back in time to say goodbye. We had SO much fun chatting and swimming and eating. It was the best. Nothing beats play time with the bestest friends.
Over the weekend, we had soccer games. I love sitting in the sunshine cheering the kids on. Ella's team has been unbeatable, but poor Jack has the worst luck with teams and they have lost every game. He's such a good player and honestly, the team plays so well, but they just can't score. Ella plays defense and has grown a lot this season but soccer isn't her favorite.
We were gonna take the kids camping in Chino Hills but it ended up raining alllll day (and night) so we decided to set up the tent inside the house and sleep in it Sunday night. Tanner set up the projector inside and we watched The Blind Side and ate yummy snacks. We hung up string lights and put a fire in the fireplace and it turned out being such a fun night!
Jack was asked to be in Honor Band but the practices conflicted with MCO so he couldn't join. But he's pretty good at the trombone! His band concert was a few days before his birthday. Amelia came over to play so I took the girls with me to the Junior High to watch Jack's performance. Tanner met us there, too and it was great! Jack did a great job! I think he had fun....
The day finally arrived! Jack's ACTUAL 11th Birthday! I planned an epic outing in LA and we had a blast. We started off at the Broad Museum and experienced Yayoi Kasama's Infinity Mirrors which was super cool. We breezed through the rest of the museum (the kids were in hyper active mode) and saw the gigantic table and chairs which made us feel like we'd shrunk ourselves. We likes the giant balloon animals as well. It's a really neat museum! From there, we took Angel's Flight down to the Grand Central Market for some drinks. It was so cool walking around seeing all the varieties of things to eat- too bad we weren't hungry. We walked back up to the Disney Concert Hall and then drove home. Wham Bam! LA Day- Check!
That night, we had dinner together and sang Happy Birthday to Jack with his favorite (and mine) mint chocolate chip Oreo ice cream cake. Then, he took some cupcakes to share with his soccer team after practice.
The next day, all 3 kids had well checks with Annique and they are all perfectly healthy. Jack had to get 3 shots and made me cry with the fit that he threw. Sheesh. He's 4ft 11inches tall which is 80th% and 75 pound which is 50th% for his age. Ray is 4ft 8inches and 76 pound but according to her age, that's 15th% for weight and 8th% for height. Ella is also 75 pounds and 4 feet 3 inches which puts her at 50th% for height and 80th% for weight. They are all so different!
We took a breather at my parent's house (they were at the temple). I was undone after the vaccination fiasco. But then we went to Sender City got our anxiety out. We met my parents and Tanner for dinner and pizzookies at BJ's which was a fun treat! We went to MCO and ended the day on a high note.
Jack, I love you, my special little boy. You may be the biggest spazz of all time but you make me genuinely laugh out loud every day and that is the most precious gift. Thank you for always telling me you love me and giving me lots of hugs and kisses. Never stop!!!!!!!! You are the bestttttt!!!!
