Oh, what to do for Valentine's Day?
It seems like every Valentine's Day since Tanner and I have been married has been a little boring. The reason I say this is because I can't even remember what we've done to celebrate the past 4 Valentine's Days that we've spent as a married couple. I CAN remember the one we spent when we were engaged... very romantic. But why does the fun have to end?
My first real official Valentine's Day date was when I was a senior in high school. He picked me up in his cool, cherry red classic car and took me to a super nice Italian restaurant. Then we had a treasure hunt on the beach to find my Valentine and a little gift. It was sure a fun night! I was just barely getting over mono but he still seemed to get a good night kiss out of me (and he did NOT catch mono!) I think the worst Valentine's Day date I ever had was when I was on a break from BYU-I and I went out with one of my sister's friends (cool older guy, right? Wrong!) He took me to Hooters! What!? At least I won the hula hoop contest. Not very romantic though....
I've always loved Valentine's Day! I loved making little Valentine's cards for all my friends and handing them out in our cute little mail boxes that we made in class. I remember always being weired out when a boy would put those little candy hearts with words on them in my mail box that said, "Hug" or "Kiss". Ewwww! Boys have cooties! ha ha
This year I want to do something super special for Tanner because he has been working so hard and we barely get to see eachother since he's at work all day and at school every night. I'm glad Valentine's Day is on a Saturday so we can spend the day (and night) together. Any aweomse ideas anyone?
