We left NYC on Friday morning and traveled down to Philadelphia for a little sight seeing and Philly cheese steaks. It was an extremely hot and humid day so we kept the walking to a minimum and chose to bypass the super long line to see the liberty bell and just admire it through the window. :-) To be honest, I was NOT feeling a cheese steak on a hot muggy day. I pictured grease and lousy cheese but it was actually super yummy! Fresh tender meat and all fresh ingredients and great bread! I was impressed! From Philly we drove to DC but something horrible happened on the way. The AC went out in the red velvet express. It was tragic. As you can imagine tanner was a little upset. It was literally torture melting in the blazing car, hot air blowing on us. It was too humid to cool off at all. Ugh thank goodness Josi and Matt have an amazing air conditioner in their house!!!! Woo hoo!!! We got to their house around bed time and put Parker down and started some laundry while watching the Olympics. So nice being with family!!!!

The next day was Saturday and we decided to take it easy- the past few days had been pretty intense. :-) we finished laundry and went swimming and then got ready for a BBQ with an old friend from Laguna Hills- Amy Slusser! She came over and brought a delicious chocolate cake, a cilantro watermelon salad, her husband and 2 little boys! It was a crazy night with all the boys running around but so fun! Matt grilled the most amazing ribs and we had a great time!

We went to the Smithsonian Air and Space Museum yesterday and the Museum of Natural History today! Sooo cool! We saw the Wright brothers first plane and Josi and I got to watch a movie about stars at the dome planetarium. We got to see dinosaur bones and touch a piece of the planet mars. We got to hang out in a butterfly habitat and see the Hope diamond. Soooo many priceless moments!

It's been so relaxing here with Josi and Matt. We go for walks after dinner and we've been sleeping so well. Baby James is sooo incredibly sweet and beyond adorable! Josi has been such a trooper and the best hostess even though she's all tired and pregnant. This girl was made to have babies! :-)

Tomorrow we're thinking we'll see the white house and the monuments, go swimming and see where the day takes us! I think the guys want to go see batman. Ha ha we miss you and love you so much!!! Xoxo
