Parker's Kindergarten Graduation!

Oh, my goodness. I cannot believe this kid is done with kindergarten. What?!?!? He has attended 3 different schools for kindergarten and says this one has been his favorite. Last year, school in PA was intense but I was happy with the education he was receiving. This year we decided to send him again so he could be a little bit more mature. We wanted to make sure he didn't fall behind or have any issues because we were moving and bringing a baby sister into the family. 

Well, nothing could slow down this fire cracker. He is outstanding and is performing above grade level in all areas, according to his teacher. He's even reading at a 4th grade level! We wanted this year to be a "floater" year for him so he could advance socially and not be stressed out. He has done great and is SO ready for first grade. 

He's Mr. Popularity. All the kids yell his name when we get to school and each day when we leave I hear, "Bye Parker!!!!" coming from all over the place. Even when we go to Target he gets stopped by friends multiple times! Hey oh!

 I can't stop and think about how much he's grown or I will freak out so I'm just going to sit here and be proud of the smart, funny, wonderful boy he is!

Graduation Day!

His teachers put on the most adorable little graduation ceremony. I'm not kidding you, it was fantastic! They had it all set up out on the grass and the kids all wore their best clothes. There were banners and balloons, a red carpet, and this awesome display for them to stand under when the teacher read a small paragraph about each child. They sang 5 songs about kindergarten and Parker acted "too cool" to sing along. He won't stop singing, whistling, drumming, and talking at home but when it's finally time to perform he gets shy!

The principal came and gave a few remarks. He is the best!

Ms. Maul interviewed each student and read their responses. This was Parker's, 

"Parker is 6 1/2 years old. His favorite thing to do at home is watch Sponge Bob. In 20 years he will be married to a funny girl (he said he already asked her and she said no but he's hoping  for a different answer in the future.) *London* They will have 3 children and live in Southern California because there are no mosquito there. He will work as a truck driver and in his free time he will go to the pool and eat ice cream."

Parker had an amazing teacher this year. From the moment we met her we felt like this was the right place for Parker. We had to send him to a school a little bit further away from our house because the school he is supposed to go to is full. He is #61 on the wait list. Sooooo, that's not going to happen. We even have him on the wait list for a charter school that my friend's dad founded. Anyhoo, his teacher was phenomenal. She made him feel like a million bucks and was always so patient and kind with the students. She had a huge class but they were all so happy to be there with her. To me, that's the most important thing. I'm so grateful for awesome teachers!!!!

We are so proud of Parker!!!! Of course the song "Let Them Be Little" played as the kids filed out of their seats and I almost broke down crying. Sheesh! I didn't cry when I dropped him off  for the first day (3 different times) but here I am getting emotional on the last day! I guess there's no turning back now! Kindergarten is done forever!

This is Parker with one of his good friends from school, Shyquan. There were about half a dozen of us Moms who were always there to drop off and pick up our kids and actually, all those moms only had one child (Kinda like me for the longest time) So we bonded and let the kids play after school at least once a week. We had birthday parties together and would meet at the pool. I so hope we get to stay here so that Parker can keep these friendships going.

Congratulations Bug, you did it! You are our special little boy!!!!!

We started carpooling with Amy from down the street about half way though the year. This day I took the kids to school but Tanner had MY keys in HIS pocket so we were late. These girls are so dang cute, though. Love them!

On to the next stage! Parker is signed up for some summer sports and is just growing up all over the place. I'm so proud of him!!! Parker, you rock!!!!!
