The KOST 103.5 Private Party at DISNEYLAND!
For the second year in a row Parker and I have tried to win tickets to a private holiday party at Disneyland through KOST 103.5. Every hour you can call in for a chance to win a family four pack of tickets. You can also enter online or meet the Street Team twice a week at a specified location. This year we tried so hard! We called every day multiple times a day to be caller 20 and never ever got through. We even met the Street Team twice but our raffle ticket was not chosen. One night as we are standing in the cold outside of Albertson's we saw a shooting star and we just knew that we would win. When you wish upon a star, right? Well yesterday was the day of the party and we still hadn't won any tickets. So, instead of giving up I loaded Parker up in to the van and we drove to Disneyland at 8:30 at night. We walked all the way through downtown Disney carrying a sign that said "We Would Love 2 Extra Tickets To The KOST Party". We had glow sticks and big smiling faces and we hoped that we would warm some stranger's heart. With a little bit of finesse we stood in the crowd and with a lot of luck, after two short minutes we were approached by a friendly young man who gave us his two extra tickets! I was flabbergasted! I gave him a great big hug and started crying. Parker and I were jumping up-and-down! We were so excited! We skipped on up to the line and handed the cast member our tickets! And when we enter the park it was The most magical experience of my life!
Picture Disneyland at night all lit up with Christmas music playing and no crowds. We had the place to ourselves! We skiped down main street relishing in the holiday spirit. We looked in all the store windows at the brilliant Mickey Mouse displays and were giggling with giddy enthusiasm! It was enchanting. The first ride we went on was the Teacups and we walked right on! It was awesome! From there, we ran from ride to ride skipping, jumping, and laughing the entire time. We also took time to take in the small details of Disneyland like the beautiful flower arrangements, the many fruit trees, the exquisite lights, and merriment all around. Since everybody in the park was able to win a ticket and attend for free everybody was so calm and pleasant. There was no crowd rushing, no slowing down. Everyone was so happy and cheerful! Parker was nervous to ride Indiana Jones but I really wanted to ride it so I got him a rice crispy treat and a special Diamond Anniversary Mickey Mouse pen and he went on the ride with me. I think he liked it! We also were the very last ones to ride space Mountain! We had a whole rocket all to ourselves! It was the best! The park closed at 1 AM and by the time we were done meandering through the park and down main street and all the way across downtown Disney it was about two in the morning. Parker fell sleep in the car and it was an easy ride home. But wouldn't you know Parker woke up right on time for school, got himself all ready, and was so excited to tell his friends all about his epic night. Because there is really no other word to describe it. It. Was. Epic!
