Christmas 2019
On Monday, Parker forgot to bring his bag of gifts for the cousins and grandparents. It was super unfortunate because he had worked so hard to pick each gift out specifically for each person and wrap them all. He was so organized. But we forgot them at home so we brought them over to my parent’s house on Christmas Eve. He was able to give my mom and dad their gifts and we opened ours from them too! It was a great morning and we were happy for the little visit!
I made a turkey for dinner but wasn’t feeling up to cooking a big feast so we stuck with turkey, cranberries, yummy mashed potatoes and salad. When Tanner got home from work, we sang Christmas Karaoke and the kids LOVED it! It was so fun! We had a yummy dinner and got the kids ready for bed. By the evening of Christmas Eve, my kids are usually DONE- sugar highed, exhausted, and threats abound. But we got them settled down, read Luke 2 and the Night Before Christmas. They were SOOOO excited for Santa to come! We had Parker help us this year which was awesome! He loved it too!
The next morning, everyone woke up around 7:30, broke through the wrapping paper barricade, and ran down to see what Santa brought. Parker got wireless headphones, Rayleigh got a new bike, Jack got a cool RC car, and Ella got a new doll and a cradle. We had a blissful morning opening gifts and sharing gratitude with each other. Tanner got me perfume and some gift cards to my favorite places. I got Tanner season tickets to the Segerstrom and tickets to the Valentines Day Disney After Dark. Everyone was so happy! We made crepes for breakfast, watched Christmas movies, and went swimming. It was a wonderful day. We let Rayleigh ride her new bike in the cul de sac and tried to put training wheels on her old bike so Jack could ride it. We could only get one of them on so we helped Jack get started on the bike and he just took off! He didn’t need help and he sure didn’t need that training wheel! He was so stoked so ride bikes with Rayleigh!
Christmas 2019 was a booming success!
