The Boys Went to Idaho and the Girls Went to the Beach

 One of the upsides of Tanner being unemployed is that he has a lot more freedom with his time. I encouraged him to take Jack to Idaho and surprise his parents. They were delivering their homecoming addresses on Sunday and we both felt it would be really nice for him to be there.

He pulled Jack out of school on Thursday and drove up to Kassidy’s house. Bridger knew they were coming but Kassidy did not and neither did Kim who was there helping Kass with the kids. When Tanner knocked on the door, Kim straight up didn’t recognize him. Like, not until Tanner started laughing and said, “You don’t recognize me!” It was all caught on Kassidy’s door camera and it was sad and hilarious. They had a nice night at Kassidy’s and then drove up to Blackfoot where they were able to see Kaitlin’s beautiful new home and play with cousins.

Kim and Monte’s homecoming was nice and I wish I’d been able to see it. No one thought to send me the zoom link (but I did ask for it!)

While the boys were away, I took the girls to Open House at school and had a nice time seeing all of their assignments that they worked so hard on. They loved seeing friends and playing on the playground with no rules.

Our Saturday was filled with unexpected blessings. At Ella’s soccer game (where she played with her whole heart and did so well even though she doesn’t really like soccer) I was stopped as we were leaving by Jillian’s mom (who has not been very kind to me) and she was NICE! I was nice too and oh so brave.

Then, we put together a little comfort gift for Sophie, Robyn’s daughter, who tragically gave birth to a still born son. She has shone so much faith throughout this horrific event but I know that grief will run deep forever.

It was a blessing to have access to Robyn’s house since we were invited to Jeremy’s birthday party that day. I had no plans on attending but was glad I had the gate pass. The girls and I stopped by for a few minutes and they grabbed some food while I wished Jeremy a happy birthday.

We then drove up to the Montage, watched a gorgeous wedding taking place for a few minutes, and then met up with Jon and the family as they celebrated Kaela’s 15th birthday party with 40 of her closest friends! It was so fun! We stayed until after the sunset and when an unexpected blessing it was to be able to be a part of Kaela’s fun and special day! You can’t beat the Montage!

The girls and I had such a fun weekend together watching chick flicks like Clueless and Mean Girls after church on Sunday and enjoying the peace and quiet with the boys being gone. Jack and Tanner made lots of fun memories and had a wonderful time catching up with the Peterson family and taking a road trip together.

We are all happy and excited about Tanner’s future job! Let’s make all the money!
