San Diego

Yesterday we decided to go down to San Diego and check out the Zoo again! Last time we went we didn't get to see the elephants and elephants are my FAVORITE so that was our mission this time. On the way down we missed the exit and found ourselves on the boarder of Mexico! Oops! Ha ha The Zoo was awesome! We saw the giraffes up close and personal because it was feeding time.

These rhinos were giving a cuddle demonstration- it was so cute!

Yay! I love elephants! This cute lil elephants was dancing! It was so funny! She just wanted to stand there and dance for us for like 10 minutes straight! What a rad elephant!

Oh man! And this meerkat was so adorable! He just stood there, right up close to us, and stared. He let us take a bunch of pictures, it was like he wanted to sit and chat! Oh, these animals are so hilarious!

We ended our zoo adventure at the petting zoo. Parker loved chasing all the animals around!

On our way home we decided to drive over Coronado bridge and check out Coronado Island. My grandma lived there with her husband back in the late 1930's when he was serving in the Navy. My Grandma would always talk about her life during that time and it was really neat to be able to witness it myself. It's a beautiful little community and the hotel is exquisite! Next time we head down there I want to spend more time at the Hotel. It was built in 1888!
We grabbed some lunch at Tanner's favorite lunch spot as a missionary, Juanitas, in Carlsbad and it was super yummy! We had a really nice day- even though we were only an hour away from home it felt like a mini vacation!
