Spring Break Part 1

Ok, so neither Parker nor I nor even Tanner get an official Spring Break from anything but I decided to take Parker to California and leave Tanner home to study for finals this Spring. We were sad to leave Tanner behind but we tried not to think about it as we were sleeping in, eating out, and soaking up the suns perfect rays.

We left Utah during a blizzard. Ummm bye bye.

Parker and I were so prepared for our little adventure. My kid travels so much that he had his Lighting McQueen "pack-pack" all packed up with books, toys, and snacks 3 days before we were even supposed to leave! It's a good thing he was prepared, too, because we were at the airport for a very long time.

When we arrived, the gate agent said that the flight was over booked and asked for any volunteers. Heck ya! We gave up our seats in exchange for $800 Delta Dollars and $25 to buy dinner (And ice cream) while we waited for our flight which would depart 5 hours later than our original flight time. It was completely worth it. We played in the little play areas, watched a movie, read books, ate burgers and fries, and of course ice cream and really had no time to be bored with all the excitement of the airport!

When it was FINALLY time to fly out our flight was delayed an hour. CHAPPED! But the gate agent hooked us up on a flight into John Wayne! Sweet! We were the last ones to board that aircraft and when we stepped on the plane the pilot scooped up Parker, plopped him into the captain's seat, threw his hat on Parker's head and just about had him cleared for take off! He was a super cool guy and gave Parker some wings which he cherishes above all other trinkets. We were seated in the VERY LAST row on the plane (which is fine with me- 2 steps to the bathroom with a 3 year old who has an over active bladder...) and every one Oooed and Ahhhed over Parker's wings as we walked past all the other passengers on our way to our seats. Yep, it was a pretty cool day. :-)

I was soooooo happy to be home with my Mom and Dad and to spend time with my sister who's husband has just been deployed to Afghanistan.

One night I left Parker with our good friends while I had a little "Sister's Dinner" with my sisters and Mom and Dad and brother and niece. Our friends have been watching our dog Cali for us since we can't have pets at our place here in Utah. It was fun to see her again! We miss our little doggie!

My Mom, Kimmie, Lau, and my BEST brother, Jon.

My Sister, Cami.

Me, Josi, and my amazing Daddy.

Parker and lil Kim were inseperable the ENTIRE trip. They were both utterly heart broken when one had to go down for a nap or home to bed. They have a special bond that totally melts my heart.

Sunday, after church,we decided to take a little field trip to Top of the World in Laguna Beach. The evening was exquisite and Parker had so much fun running around the park. He even made sand angels! Poor kid doesn't know what to do with himself in all this sunshine and no snow. :-)

The view from Top of the World is breathtaking

Oh, and can anyone tell that Laura is 10 months pregnant is this picture?

Parker and Kimmie ran around like crazy. Kimmie is the most precious baby girl in the entire world. I just love her so much!

Parker loves his Nanny.

There's Laura's bump. She is the most beautiful, perfect little pregnant lady and she makes the most adorable baby girls!!!!

Our trip got off to a great start! More adventures to come!
