Jack Tanner::: 1 Year Old

Jack is 1 year old!
Looking back through all the pictures we took this last year it amazes me how small he was and how much he's brightened my life! He is such a JOY of a baby. I'm so proud to have him as my son. He's sweet and smiley and laughs easily. He's a good eater, great sleeper, and is easy going. He is a "mama's boy" and cries when he sees me walk away. But secretly I love that about him. I took him in for his 1 year check up and he weighs 26.7 pounds which puts him in the 98th percentile and he is 33.5 inches tall which is completely off the charts. He is the average size of an 18 month old. No wonder he's such a lug to carry around! Everyone comments on his size and are surprised when I tell them his age. They also comment on his sweet disposition and cute blond hair and bright blue eyes. He looks extraordinarily like Parker. He can't walk yet but has been standing on his own for about a month. He's a fast crawler though! He loves to dance and will bust a move whenever he hears a song. He will clap whenever a song ends or when he hears people cheering. He was given some cars for his birthday and will crawl all over the house pushing the car which is the cutest "little boy" thing ever. He is obsessed with wheels. Anywhere we go he finds the wheels that are close by. It's usually someone's stroller or bike. He will sit next to a scooter for a half an hour just playing with the wheels. He wants to be where his sister or brother is. Or mama. He will crawl all the way up the stairs and find me wherever I am if I leave him downstairs. He does NOT like the drive through car wash. When he falls down and gets a bonk all I have to do is snuggle him close and sing "If You're Happy and You Know It" and he'll quiet down. He's pretty tough and hasn't had too many bumps and bruises so far. He's starting to give me kisses on demand and loves to snuggle down with me when I rock him to sleep. He'll grab his soft blanket and rub his face in it and get all cozy. When I lay him down in his crib he collapses on top of his stuffed animals and waits for me to throw his blankets on him and then he burrows himself. It's adorable. He loves to swim and be in the tub or shower. All of my babies have been water babies! He loves It's a Small World and Baby Einstein. He gets so excited when he sees his Daddy and says, "Dadda! Dadda!" He is a smart, beautiful boy and I love him with all my heart. He's the light of my life and I can't imagine life without him.
