Father's Day 2017

Since we worked so hard on Saturday, we were all looking forward to enjoying a relaxing Sunday honoring Tanner and all the Dads out there who are our heros! I tried really hard to be prepared to spoil Tanner all day since he dropped the ball for me on Mother's Day... ha ha just kidding. I really did want to make him feel special. Ok maybe I wanted him to feel SO special that he'd remember to make me feel special too. It's all good! Win win!

I made sure to go to bed nice and early on Saturday night so I could easily get up with the babies on Sunday. I needed that sleep too because my contractions were getting out of control and my body needed rest. They woke up around 6:30am and we cuddled for a little while before I made them breakfast. Then Parker made Tanner some pancakes and grabbed him a RockStar from the fridge and we brought him breakfast in bed around 8:30am. That was all the "sleeping in" he was gonna get! ha ha

It was a super hot day and the kids were excited to swim with Tanner so that's what we did! We played together in the pool until it was time to get ready for church. Jack was super tired so I laid him down for a nap and sent Tanner to church with Rayleigh and Parker. He said they kids were super cute up on the stand singing during sacrament meeting and that Rayleigh kept turning around and trying to lead everyone. The guys were treated to some baked goods during the 3rd hour and I think they all had a great time. It was nice to stay home and rest while Jack was asleep. I even baked some chocolate chip cookies!

We BBQed some cheeseburgers and made french fries for dinner and swam until it was time for bed. It was a really nice day. We all needed a day like this- just playing together at home without any big jobs/projects/distractions. Oh! And we also had some gifts and cards for Tanner. I made him a Father's Day chatbook with a bunch of pictures in it of him with the kids. And I got him a cool hat and a cooper water bottle. And I had some art framed for him too but it wasn't ready yet so I had to just tell him about it. ha

My family all met up at the park together to celebrate Father's Day but we didn't want to drive all the way down there again and it was soooo hot. I'm glad we could spend the day like we did and it's a blessing to be so close to my Dad that I can see him and hug him every day if I want to.

I love this picture hanging in the hallway at my parent's house. I remember it hanging on the wall behind the couch growing up. Look at that studly father with his 5 cute kids. And look how my Mom just beams with pride! Classic.

The baby makes my belly do all kinds of weird movements. Rayleigh is so sweet and tender with my belly and loves to look at it and feel it. Jack just slaps it. ha ha

Father's Day swimming. Tanner does SUCH a great job playing with the kids in the pool. It's the one place he can't have his phone! Am I right? He throws them in the air and they do flips and they swim and play. He gets in there every. single. day with them. And they love it. And he does too! Undivided attention!!!

Happy Father's Day, Tanner Ray! Thank you for working so hard to provide for us and for protecting us. We are all happier, feel safer, and enjoy life more when you are around. We are lucky to have you!!!!! We love you!!!!
