A Very Eventful Week

After such a busy week, we spent most of Sunday with church and relaxing as a family. It was perfect.

Monday began the kids’ last week of school before going off track. Ella looked so cute on her way to school. I helped in the classroom twice which was awesome because I hadn’t been able to step foot in there EVER! There’s nothing quite like a classroom full of 7 and 8 year olds. They are so cute!
On Monday at gymnastics, Rayleigh FINALLY received her trophy for working so hard all year! She was elated and I’m so proud of her! She always has the best attitude when she’s practicing and the few times she’s gotten hurt, she’s brushed it off and kept going. Even when she’s bled! She is my total rockstar!!!!

Tuesday I took Ella and Parker to California Adventure for some quality time and fresh air. It was a beautiful Spring day. I love that time with Parker- when we are driving, we have good chats. He’s truly one of my best friends!!!! The park was crowded so we spent most of our time in the Animation Academy drawing and laughing at Turtle Talk. We got smoothies on the way out that totally hit the spot!

Wednesday was a DAY. Just jam packed and busy with life stuff. I called Tanner to tell him I was checking out before he’d left work for home. I was DONE. Not angry or upset, just spent. Not 2 minutes later, I realized the laundry room was raining. That’s never a good thing to have happen. I ran upstairs and turned off the water to the toilet and my brilliant Rayleigh jumped into action and placed bowls under the raining water to collect it. She also placed towels all around! Thanks, Princess!!! The next day we had some remediation guys come out to dry up the water and cut into lots of drywall. Thankfully, Tanner was the one handling the insurance company and protocol with that.

On Thursday we were all in need of a little break so we got In n Out for dinner and watched a movie. MCO was canceled for Parker so it was a chill evening. Rayleigh did have Activity Days, though, and enjoyed making huge bubbles with the girls! Her leader, Caroline Haring, is always planning the best activities for the girls!

Friday was the kids’ last day of school before tracking off for Spring! Yay! We met up with a bunch of fellow classmates at the park for a few hours and I got to know some of the other moms which was so fun! As I feel the push back from my long time friends in Eastvale, it’s nice to get to know more new people! I had purchased a ticket to Time Out for Women with Courtney and she didn’t want to go together. She wanted to workout and meet me there an hour late. Jill was on the fence about going (which is always annoying- just say yes or no) but she ended up bailing. I was feeling VERY much like my friends didn’t care about me at all. So I suggested to Courtney that she ask her other friends if they wanted my ticket and one of them did! Took her about 3 seconds to replace me. So ya, that didn’t feel good.
But luckily I met Angel and the Kendall girls at Cheesecake Factory by Disneyland for dinner! Holly had texted me earlier in the week and said she’d be in town and could I get together. She mentioned she was divorced and recovering from anorexia so there was no way I was gonna miss seeing my friend and showing her some support. I hadn’t seen her in like 12 years! Her 2 little sisters came too and it was so fun! I loved that Angel was with me because what are best friends for?? I am so grateful that Holly reached out to me and that we got together. I’ve known her since before kindergarten and we have a rich history together. There’s nothing she could do that I wouldn’t love her and I hope she begins a new chapter and finds more happiness in the future. We laughed and talked and it was so good being together as women!

Since I was home instead of being gone on Saturday, it was actually REALLY nice. We got the laundry room on to the next step and put washer/dryer hooked up again. We spent the day doing laundry, packing for Mexico, ordering groceries, cleaning, and hours in the pool. I cannot wait for warm weather and lots is sunshine this summer!! It makes me so happy!

Parker was on an overnight hiking/camping trip with the Young Men in Crystal Cove. The first time he did this, he didn’t have the best experience. But he’s grown, physically and maturity wise and did much better this time around. When I picked him up, he was in a great mood and had some funny stories. (They were gross, though, so I was share)

Sunday, Tanner and I both taught (me in primary and him in Young Men’s) and then we relaxed at home and did some last minute preparations for our big Mexico trip! We tried to get our kids to bed before Sophie came over (we picked her up after the Bishop’s youth fireside) but they were so excited to see her, they wouldn’t stay in bed! She was soooo sweet when she walked in and saw them! They covered her with hugs and kisses and we felt totally at peace saying goodbye and leaving them for a week. We drove to my parents and spend the night there. I slept soooooo well, despite the fact that I had to wake up at 4:30am. I’m grateful to my parents for letting us crash there for the night and for allowing Parker to stay the week! He’s going to LOVE it and I can’t wait to go on adventures in Cancun with Tanner!
