School Stuff and High Adventure

The school year is winding down and man, do we love our school and friends and teachers. Rayleigh attended her cast party for the Lion King where they were able to watch a recording of their performance and eat treats and snacks. She said she almost cried- she was feeling all of the feels. I'm so thankful for the opportunity she had to perform in this play with such fun friends and teachers and I know her heart is full.

The kids have been bringing home lots of school work, too. Jack wins for being the most hilarious, as usual. Rayleigh is so sweet with her writing and is doing so well in math. Ella is growing in all areas and I could not be more proud of all of them. And of course Parker who gets zero fanfare for all he accomplishes. 2 more college classes under his belt and all As and Bs!

Mrs. Kliss and I were worried that our chicks might not be hatching so she went out and bought 2 from the feed store but then halelulia, 5 chicks hatched! They are so cute and a total highlight for kindergarten. My kids love the back stage pass they get through me to hold and cuddle them.

The school gathered together to say goodbye to our amazing custodian who is retiring. Man, if I could get half of that kind of send off when I'm done here, wow. It was truly amazing and really put your faith back into humanity.

My class performed Wide Mouth Frog for their end of the year program and they were soooo cute! So many parents came out to watch and support their kiddos (even the mean one who wont let me go to Bible Study but she didn't even come say hi to me...). They did such a great job and I was so happy to be able to be a part of such a cute event. Me and Colleen make a great team! Shannon donated adorable frog cookies and we handed out all of the students memory books. Whew! Jack was able to come watch Ella (who was fantastic!) Rayleigh was able to watch her the previous day when we were together for buddy time. I thought it was so sweet when the kids wanted to come up and take a picture with me. Oh how I love them! I can't wait to watch them grow and I hope they all stay friends with Ella! So much magic in that kinder class!

On Friday, the school had Donuts with Dad which was so cute and fun. The kids could have cared less that he was there and only wanted to grab a donut and go play with their friends. ha ha But I brought Tanner down to kinder to see the chicks and then he went out the kinder gate. Apparently, the other kindergarten teacher thought Tanner was our sub and we were all confused when our sub didn't show! The sub was supposed to be a guy and he just never showed up. It was all pretty funny. Dr. D came in and helped out and he did a fantastic job. We had a blast together. His daughter is the aid next door and she got a good laugh out of her Dad being shoved into kinder. Colleen left her meeting early and came back to rescue us just in time for the real sub to show up totally late! He told me he usually subs for high school math and I thought for sure he would bail as soon as he had one interaction with Jaxon (which didn't go well). But all was well. It was pretty funny though. 

After school we all went to the splash pad to celebrate Lincoln's birthday and it was so fun being out in the sunshine with our school friends! They are so fun and we always have such a great time together.

Parker has been in St George for High Adventure this week. He's been rock climbing, wake surfing, golfing, and eating yummy food. They were supposed to go to Sequoia but a change of plans brought them to Jill and Paul's brand new house instead. Parker sold flag subscriptions to help pay for all of these awesome church summer camps but we got in total trouble for doing that. Apparently they are the ward's flags and they asked that we bring the flags back and give them all of the money Parker earned. Tanner and I lived with anxiety for a few days but ended up keeping Parker's hard earned money, returning the flags to a very confused new Bishop, and buying supplies to make our own flags. The real bummer of it all is how judged we felt (again). But I tried my best to focus on the 7 Habits and be Christ like with my problem solving and conflict resolution.

Anyhoo, Parker had a blast. We went car shopping on Saturday and are so sad about needing to buy a new car with the zero dollars we have. Please pray that we make all the money. Tanner has been begging for a promotion and they just keep telling him no. Ughhhhhh. Money solves a lot of problems, let me tell you!
