Good Times in October
I finally feel like my life is drama free. Life is good. Everyone is happy. And things are looking up!
I took Rayleigh and Jack to Disneyland on Monday to spend some extra loving time with Jack. We held hands and I was able to get him back to his old, cute self again. Jack is soooo wiggly. He can't sit still. And he has been fighting more with his sisters (and me). But he's growing up and I want to be there to help him and love him every step of the way. We had a great time at Disneyland and Ray was so kind and compassionate to allow Jack the spotlight. Tanner spent some special 1:1 time with Ella and took her to cheer.
That morning I had work but the rest of the school was out for parent/teacher conferences. Luckily, Tanner was around to help get the kids to their conferences and I met them in their classrooms. (Except Jack- I let Tanner handle that one. Jack is smart but just barely missed honor roll. Other than chatting, he's doing well) Rayleigh's teacher has been MIA but her long term sub helped with her conference and Rayleigh is blossoming into a lovely and brilliant young lady. Ella is super behind in reading and math and we have to work with her at home to get her caught up.
Wednesday we hiked to Pumpkin Rock for Activity Days and it was so fun! The kids had a blast and it was fun chatting with Lisa and Erika while we walked. I was supposed to have bookclub that night but Billie had to rush to the hospital and had a ton of blood clots removed from her lungs. So, I grabbed a treat with Valerie and it was nice!
Thursday was such an epic day! Rayleigh received an honor roll award at school!!! We are so proud of her!!!! And it was another minimum day so I took the kids to Irvine Park Railroad and we had fun running around and taking pictures. The kids are growing up and not as into the pumpkin patch as they used to be. But we wandered over to the zoo and that was so cool! It was a pleasant surprise to walk through the zoo seeing all of the cute animals. We then went to MCO which is always so uplifting and then I surprised the kids with a night at Great Wolf Lodge. They had no idea and they were soooooo excited. We drove through In n Out, got checked in to the hotel, and had a nice, cozy evening in the wolf den.
Friday we ditched school to swim and play at the water park all day. I brought tons of food and the kids ran wild while I sat and listened to a book. We invited Mufaddel and he arrived around 4:00 which thrilled the kids they played hard until 8pm when the water park closed. Tanner came by around 4pm as well and brought us pizza. The lady next to me in a cabana left and gave us her cabana which was soooo nice. We ended the night on a high note, eating pizza, swimming together, and going down water slides together.
When we took Mufaddel home, we were able to meet his mom and little sister and he told us that he was speaking at his mosque the next day. He was giving a speech to 200 people about friendship and it made me so happy to know that Rayleigh and Mufaddel are such sweet friends.
The kids were super exhausted at the end of the week but we had such a great time with lots of highlights for October. Let the good times roll!
