Christmas 2010

This Christmas was spent at home- just the 3 of us. It was perfect. I loved every moment of it. Especially since it all started at the nice, decent hour of 8am. Parker was in awe of his Criss Cross Crash and hot wheels from Santa. We played with it for about a half an hour before he was even interested in opening other presents.

Please note that Parker wanted to wear his "Seattle" shirt on Christmas morning, not the cute Christmas jammies he wore the night before. Sheesh!

Tanner set up his camera in the corner of the room and was able to snap pictures of our whole day with his handy dandy remote.

While we were making breakfast (crepes with strawberries and bacon) Parker was smiling into the camera saying, "Cheese!" Tanner grabbed the remote and started snapping away- we have about 20 pictures of Parker smiling like this. Sooooo cute!

Since Tanner and I gave each other the gift of a night in San Francisco we didn't have any presents to open under the tree. But Parker was very sweet and let me open some of his. He got some cool stuff! Like a sing-a-ma-jig!! Hello? Coolest toy EVER! And a glo-doodle! I WANT ONE!

Tanner was stoked with Eclipse. Ok, so Tanner had a few presents under the tree.

Woo hoo! Merry Christmas!!!

Parker was playing with his Sing-a-ma-jig and feeding it his sippy cup. This child needs a sibling! :-)

Well, Tanner surprised me with a gift I've been wanting for YEARS. He bought me a piano. I am in love. Playing the piano is so theraputic for me and it's been such a bummer not having one in our home our entire marriage. Well, now we do. He hauled it into our house ALL BY HIMSELF. He's got super human strength! I'm excited to start playing again and I hope I can begin teaching Parker some basics this year! Thanks honey, this is a gift that will last us a life time. :-) You're the best!!!!

That afternoon we made a big old fancy, turkey dinner. Tanner was in charge of the turkey and he did a fantastic job! It was so juicy and moist! (Thanks, Mark, for the tips at Thanksgiving!) I made mashed potatoes, green bean casserole, stuffing, sweet potatoes from scratch and fresh cranberry sauce made with REAL cranberries!

It. Was. Good.

Parker crashed on the couch late that afternoon- we WERE going to try and take him to the movies but snuggling in at home felt more Christmasy after our little guy showed us how pooped he was.

It was a perfect Christmas at home, just the 3 of us. We were beaming all day and enjoyed so much being together.
