Crystal Cove and Swimming with Cousins
Yay! Tanner came home! We made it 2 weeks without seeing each other! It wasn't so bad. Isn't it sad that we are kind of used to being apart? I guess being married for almost 10 years and being 30ish and kinda mature has it's unique benefits.
We were soooooo excited to pick him up at the airport. Thank goodness for John Wayne! It was such a breeze! Tanner was beyond glad to be back- mostly because he missed his pillow. ;-) He hasn't been sleeping too well which is a bummer. Living in a hotel has it's perks but we're anxious to find a house and get all moved in and settled. But, we can't complain! We have been so blessed- that's for sure!
On Saturday, we met my brother and his family down at their beach house in Crystal Cove. He rents one of the little beach cottages out for a weekend about every other month and it's so fun! It's super pretty and quaint and a great way to spend a weekend. You feel like you are far away on vacation when you're really just staying local. We hung out at the house while Laura relished the beach and soaked up some sun.
Kayla is super into books. And not those nonsense picture books with puppies and ducks. No sir, she likes these hard bound chapter books. The older the edition the better! Smarty pants!
The view was spectacular- such a perfect day.
My handsome husband... Ok, I might have been mildly obsessed with taking his picture. ;-)
Cute group shot on the beach before we headed up to the cottage.
Aw... doesn't get much better than this!
That night we took Parker to the Spectrum for some dinner at Ruby's and to see the movie "Planes". He had his little Target gift card from his birthday so we let him shop for some planes before the movie but they were sold out! Bust! The movie was great and it was the perfect night out with my 2 airplane obsessed boys.
The next day we savored every last minute with Tanner before we had to take him back to the airport. Saying goodbye this time was a lot easier than it was the first time because I know he's doing well and I know when I'll see him again. (Thank goodness the company will fly him home every other weekend) Parker and I have been playing everyday with friends and family while Tanner has been working hard so as long as we stay busy we do alright. And Parker loves to Facetime Tanner which helps with the separation.
I love technology!
Of course we've been enjoying plenty of pool days and obviously I have to document each and every one. Well, to be honest, I haven't been as good at snapping pictures but oh well. You'll just have to believe me.
Beach time with Daddy and pool time with cousins.
It's a wonderful life.
