April Showers Bring May Flowers
Life has been pure bliss with 3 kids so far! Everything has turned out beautifully and has been running smoothly! Here is a little update on our lives:
Jack is nursing like a champ- no supplementing so far! He's a little milk drunk in this picture. See the milk in the corner of his mouth?
Oh my! Starry eyed surprise!
When Rayleigh climbs onto the bed with us in the morning she's kind of a little monster. So I keep her down and she runs around my room getting into everything and pushing every button she can find. She is the happiest little thing!
I was rocking Jack and of course she climbed up into my lap. Usually she'll bring me a book or something but this day we took some funny selfies. She's the cutie wootest!
On the Saturday after my birthday I took Kassidy and the babies and met my sisters at Jon's pool for a little, tiny birthday celebration. Jon met us with his family too but not until later. Tanner took Parker and met Cort at the boys at the Chino Air Show. My parents were in San Diego for a wedding. We tried to leave early enough to get Rayleigh down for a nap before the pool but when we got to my parents she was all about playing. So, we hung out for a little bit before grabbing some pizza's and heading to the pool. She loves to play in my Mom's playroom and little baby Jack fit perfectly in the doll cradle!
Always showing him love with her cute little head down on his.
This was a first. Rayleigh discovered my "special" shelves where I kept all my treasures growing up. It's always stayed at my Mom's house because everything in there was just too special to lose on all of our moves! But I have little music boxes and pill boxes from all my travels and jewelry and things in there that she just LOVED. And it completely melted my heart to see her enjoying all of the things that meant so much to me growing up.
Here are a few pictures that Tanner sent me of the air show. To say they enjoyed themselves would be an understatement.
So, bad parents of the year award goes to me. I totally spaced it when taking Rayleigh out into the sun for 4 straight hours. The poor thing woke up the next day with a terrible rash as a reaction to her antibiotic. That happened to me when I marched in the St. Patrick's Day parade with my girl scout troop. I should have known better! But my kids are never sick and on antibiotics so I just forgot!! She loved playing in the water though and Kassidy was so sweet to step in and watch her all day since I'm not cleared to go swimming yet.
Kari's kids were with Joey so she was able to hold Jack for like 2 straight hours. She was in heaven and it was so fun just sitting pool side with her chit chatting. Cami was there with Jessi and Ben and so was not as free to lounge but I loved having her there too! I love my sisters!!! And sweet Cami brought me a gift and cup cakes and fruit to go with our pizza! She's the best!
Rayleigh had a unique way of eating the pizza. She ate it straight on- like, cheese first. Silly girl. She made the hugest mess!
Everyone sang to me and we all ate cup cakes! It made me feel so special!
My sisters are my best friends! I'm so glad Jon came too! Jon and I have a special bond but I haven't been able to spend much time with him lately! It makes me so sad!!!!
He totally helped me out to the car though- double strollers are not for the faint of heart. He's such a stud. I just love my brother so much. Rayleigh was toast by the time we got her in the car. She slept the whole way home!
Monday I needed to run some errands in Laguna so I took the kids to my Mom's house and got to work. Jack hung out while Rayleigh slept.
I picked up some pictures from Costco as well as some chocolate so made little "Thank You" gifts for the nurses at the hospital and my amazing doctor. (who is retiring this summer!!! Boo hoo!)
I also made a cute little "picture" bag for Kim for Mother's Day/Her 56th Birthday. I boxed up some maternity clothes to send to Josi. And I enjoyed some quality time with my Mom and Dad before going back home to pick up Parker from school. It was a great day and I felt so good getting so much accomplished!
Tuesday (Cinco de Mayo) Richel came over with her 2 little boys! It was so good to see her and it meant so much to me that she would drive all the way out to visit me! Her boys are darling and Rayleigh got the biggest kick out of playing with them. Richel even stayed with Rayleigh while I ran to pick up Parker from school and while I was gone she changed Rayleigh's poopy diaper and got her dressed! (she was covered in mud from playing in the backyard) What an amazing friend! I'm bummed I forgot to snap a picture with her. But since I've known her my entire life I guess the memory of her face will have to do.
This free hot tub had definitely been worth the effort to get it into the back yard. The kids love playing in there! And I love that it's a nice, clean activity! ha ha
Sorry, but I have to take a million selfies with Jack to document how tiny he is. I love when he sleeps on me like this. There is nothing quite as tender as a baby sleeping on your shoulder, breathing on your neck.
Jack Tanner: 3 weeks old!
Well, something totally freaking happened right before we were leaving to get Parker from school. I heard some helicopters really close by and then the school called and announced they were on "lock down" for police activity in the neighborhood. I loaded up the babies and headed down to the school to be there right when they lifted the lock down and released the kids from school. I was totally fine and calm the entire time until the lock down was lifted (20 minutes later) and all my emotions came flooding out. I was shaking and just so happy he was safe. He said they all had to line up under the white board close together and stay quiet. He said his teacher was very serious. He was so brave. I'm so glad for a safe school and rock star police force. The school, police, and community all worked together nicely to make sure everyone stayed safe.
When Tanner came home that night I was so glad to have the whole family together safe and sound. Jack looks so small in Tanner's arms.
I love my new little man!
I think Rayleigh is teething because she woke up one night and just wanted to cuddle. I put Jack in Tanner's arms too and he looked so cute with his 2 babies all snuggled up to him.
Thursday (5/7) Shelley came over to see me! Since we share a birthday we always make an effort to connect around that time. She is living the dream in LA. It's so fun to have her so close and I loved catching up with her!!!
Rayleigh was giving Jack some good loves. She is so sweet and tender with him.
I love it when the kids want to play in the hot tub after school. It's so nice to sit back there with them and enjoy the sunshine and fresh air!
Rayleigh was trying to wear Kassidy's bathing suit! ha ha
Whelp! That's it for now folks! As you can see our cup over floweth!!!
