Out of Touch with Reality

This pandemic seems to be slowing down a little bit. We have still not felt too bored with it all- every day has been something new and different. My kids are good at getting their school work done but I have to sit down and do it with them and I have a hard time sticking to a set routine.... because, like I said, each day is new and different.  
A few highlights from recent days:
1)Tanner received an award for being an outstanding leader during a global pandemic. It was gifted to him by his employees and it is very well deserved. 

2) I made my second trip to Target exactly a month after the first one (on May 14th) and I purchased some hair dye for Rayleigh. It only lasted a day but she loved having purple hair. 

3) I busted out my old American Girl dolls for Ella and she was so cute in her room playing with them for a few hours. She sets them up and feeds them and puts them to bed. It’s adorable. 

4) Rayleigh had a play date at Haley’s house and I had a little GNO at Jill’s house. We sat in the hot tub and talked for 5 hours. No joke. 

5) Josi orchestrated a wonderful family FHE via ZOOM. The lesson was on forgiveness and it was great! The kids loved seeing each other! I can’t wait until we can be together in person again!

6) Jack’s little friend from church, Oakley, has a birthday and brought us some special cup cakes! It was so cute seeing her and made me miss church!!!!

7) I took the kids down to the beach for the first time since February! We went to Strands and Robyn let us take the golf cart down. Fun! We played for about 2 hours and then came home for dinner. She gave me 3 bags of clothes for Rayleigh too! Score!

We are not struggling and it’s been good having a slow transition back to “real life”. I’m not too concerned with when/how the kids will be going back to school but my friends are sure struggling with the possibilities. I’m so thankful I’m already homeschooling Parker. Who knew that when I made that choice so long ago that one of the benefits would be NO stress about his schooling during a world wide quarantine?
We have much to be thankful for!
