A Halloweenie Weekend and the Primary Program

I tried to plan a super fun Pumpkin Patch Creepy Crawl and hit up all of the patches and fun festive  places before Halloween is over. Being gone for a week really cramped my holiday style! But we had a few stumbling blocks and we weren't able to get everything done. We still had a fantastic day! I dyed the girls' hair and I had to drop my car off to get the oil changed first so after that, we took the kids to the Eastvale Pumpkin Patch. They each chose 2 rides/activities and had a really great time! We then attended Aurora's birthday party but she pushed her party back by 2 hours and then never showed up! So we left the park ] (and our present) and set off for more fun.

We tried to stop by Irvine Park Railroad but the line was literally a mile long so we turned around and headed for the Great Park to ride the giant Jack-o-lantern Balloon- but it was too windy. We were all getting hungry and the kids requested McDonald's with a play place. Luckily, I knew just the location! The McDonald's off Cabot was the perfect place! The kids had so much fun playing games on the screens and running around the play structure. We ordered so much yummy food (that made us feel sick later) and we were all happy. We were going to stop by Pumpkin City, but it was packed so we hit up Trader Joes for some pumpkin treats and a few more pumpkins. Everyone was so nice and a good time was had by all.
We ended the day with our favorite way to bathe- a Boo Bath and of course, Harry Potter.

The next day was the long awaited Primary Program! The kids worked hard memorizing their parts and learning all of the songs. They did a fantastic job and I'm so proud of them!

Jack Peterson- When I do things that Serve Heavenly Father I feel helpful. One day I volunteered to help my mom do the dishes. I liked doing the dishes because serving my mom made me feel good inside. I know Heavenly Father needs all of our helping hands and I’m happy to help.

Ella Peterson- The 8th Commandment is Thou Shall Not Steal. Stealing is when you take something that’s not yours. If you take something from someone you might get in trouble and hurt someone’s feelings. Heavenly Father wants us to be kind and not take things that don’t belong to us.

Rayleigh Peterson-

The Lord called Enoch to be a Prophet. Enoch wasn’t sure if he could do what the Lord wanted. He thought that he was too young and not well-liked by the people, who found him “slow of speech.” But the Lord was with him and he built a city- a city of Zion.  The people who lived in it were very righteous. They lived as the Lord commanded. There were no poor, because everyone loved and served one another, having “one heart and one mind.” After many years of obedience, Enoch, with Zion and all its people, were taken into heaven, where there was nothing but “peace, justice, and truth.”

Enoch brought peace into the lives of those around him. We can also help others feel peace by serving and loving them as we strive to live as the Savior would have us live.

Kim and Monte and my parents were able to watch via Zoom. What a blessing!

After church we hiked to Pumpkin Rock and Parker went to a fireside at the Bishop's house. Parker is doing a little better, but he's in between friendships and that's a very hard place to be.

All in all, it was a wonderful week and we are feeling very blessed!
