It's Time to Trunk or Treat

On Monday, I took the kids to California Adventure and ran into not 1 but 2 good childhood friends! Skylar was there with his family and it was fun to see them- he tried to help us meet up with his family who was in line for Cars but my heart just couldn't cut off that many people. So we headed to the exit to wait for them and Rayleigh asked a Cast Member if we could meet up with them and he let us go some VIP way to get onto the ride! It was awesome! Sky was like, "How did you do that?!?!" What can I say, Disneyland loves me.
Then I saw Jacqueline walking by with her handsome husband and cute little baby! I yelled and yelled her name until I she heard me and it was soooo good to see her! She hasn't changed a bit! She is NOT interested in going to the High School reunion in a few weeks, so we have to plan another GNO to get together because I miss her!!!!
But the biggest even of the night was Jack's decision to ride Incredicoaster for the first time! He was so brave but kind of nervous. I took Rayleigh, too, while Parker waited with Ella and right when we were about to get on, Jack turned to me and said, "Can we say a quick prayer?" We quietly prayed that Jack would be brave, have fun, and make a new wonderful memory... and guess what? He loved it!!!! He did so great!!! I'm so proud of him and he's just the best for making the choice to ride it all on his own when HE was ready. I didn't get a picture because you couldn't even see Jack....

On Wednesday at school, the kinders met up with their big buddies which is Rayleigh's 3rd grade class and another 5th grade class. They had to make predictions about pumpkins and then make lots of measurement including counting all of the seeds. It was a morning of messy fun! I love being at school with my kids!!! I can't believe I get paid to do this!

Wednesday night was the LH Ward's Trunk or Treat. We dropped Parker off at Cam's so he could go to the dance with his cousins. He then spent the next few nights at my parent's house because he just needed a change of scenery. The poor kid has been going through a lot with friends. But he had a blast with his cousins at the dance and totally regretted coming home on Saturday because the dance on Saturday night was awesome, too! But the LH Trunk or Treat was so fun! Rayleigh did her own make up and looked fantastic! Jack was Harry Potter and Ella was a beautiful ballerina. The food was amazing, games were a hit, and everyone went all out on their trunks! I loved spending the evening with Angel and her boys and my sweet parents sat with us at dinner and did an outstanding job with their trunk. Jon and Lau met up with us and the cousins had a blast together... Kaela is such a cutie and plays so sweetly with Ella. Their bond makes my heart swell! We ended the night taking home some awesome trunk decor from a rich young family in the ward who was throwing all of their balloons and piƱatas away. Score! Tanner didn't come with us because he had a Trunk of Treat event at work. But it was a great success so that's good!

The next day, Rayleigh had a fun "Holy Ghost" themed Activity Days at her leader's house. Her leader, Caroline, always goes ALL out (especially for Halloween) and it's fantastic! On Saturday, I scooped up the kids and headed down to my parent's house to pick up Parker. He had a wonderful time with my parents and hanging out with cousins. I wish we lived closer! On our way over, we tried to stop by Irvine Park Railroad again but it was crazy crowded and the Great Park Balloon was going up and down but the line was an hour long. Oh well... we were all happy to go to my parent's, make some pumpkin pancakes, and hang out for a couple of hours. Tanner stayed home, took a long bath, and watched a movie. Rough life!

Saturday night was out ward's Trunk or Treat and it. was. awkward. My friends are sooooo weird to me and I have no idea why. Tanner and I set up the balloons, and pinatas, and baby pool, along with his bubble machine and music and had the best trunk ever! We handed out candy while the kids played and had a blast. They were handing out gold fish as a prize for one of the games and now we are the proud parents of 9 fish. Parker hung out in the car because it was awkward with Sydney (who was super chatty with me and it was weird) and it was just a rotten night for us both. When we left the Trunk or Treat, we visited the Pirates of the Caribbean house (which is sooooo awesome!) and all of a sudden we saw all of our friends show up... apparently they'd all talked about going over there... but  NO ONE TOLD US! So, that's how awesome my "friends" are. Ughhh, I'm ready for this to not bother me anymore.
Anyhoo, despite friend drama, the week was soooo fun and festive, filled with lots of Halloween glee!

Jack's teacher sent me this.. she was cracking up when she asked the kids to grab a snack from their backpack for recess and Jack whipped out his PB&J sandwich and ripped it in half. ha ha He's a problem solver.
