Family Home Evening at the Spectrum

We took the kids to the Spectrum for Family Home Evening. I wanted to have them ice skate (not me because I learned in 8th grade that I cannot ice skate) and I was a little worried that it would be crowded and there would be a big line. But we walked right in and almost had the entire rink to ourselves! Jack and Ella picked up on the skating right away but Rayleigh struggled a but at first. After about 5 minutes she wanted to quit. But after taking a little break and wiping away a few tears, she got back out there and did amazing! Ella was all about the posing, twirling, and being adorable. Jack was going for a speed record and was racing all over the place. Rayleigh, per the usual, made friends with everyone and encouraged anyone who was struggling. Tanner got out there with the kids and owned his Idaho roots. But the skates hurt his feet. Parker sat in front of the Hello Kitty Cafe and enjoyed the beautiful Christmas Tree set to music.

We went to Cheesecake Factory for dinner and it was the first time in a very long time that we'd all been out to a sit down restaurant together. The kids did great and we all enjoyed a yummy meal. It was a good learning experience to order from a menu and work on table manners. We strolled though the Spectrum and did a little shopping at Claire's before going home.

It was a wonderful night and the kids are begging to go skating again soon!
