Quick Trip to Utah for Eli's Wedding and Sunny's Blessing

We made a super quick trip to Utah and spent most of our time driving. We decided to take the Tesla and leave my car for Parker (who was staying behind for a youth activity). It took forever to get to Ogden and the kids were not the best little travelers due to the fact that they didn’t have as much space between them. We had to stop so many times but at least we got lots of treats. We made it to Ogden and went straight to bed after a 13 hour drive.
Saturday morning we played in Kassidy’s beautiful backyard and the kids had so much fun with their cousins. It was nice to sit and catch up with Kassidy and Bridger. They are so fun! We got ready and went to Eli’s wedding reception at his bride’s beautiful home in Draper. The kids ran around and had fun on the trampoline and golf course and Ella loved dancing with the bridesmaids. It was so fun! Man, I just love Utah.
I was so glad we could attend Eli’s wedding reception and wish him a happy marriage. He was such a fantastic missionary and means so much to our family. I wanted the kids to see what a strong, faithful young man looks like to encourage them to aspire to the same grand heights!
The next morning we went to church with Kass and Bridger and then the whole family came down for Sunny’s blessing. (Minus Travis and Nicole and their kids) It was a little awkward with Monte for some reason and kinda stressful with Kaitlin who is moving into Kim and Monte’s home. I didn’t know what we could say to her since it all seems to be a very sensitive subject….
BUT, it was so nice to see everyone. It had been SO long and who knows when we will see them again. So we didn’t hit the road until around 2pm and the drive, again, took forever. At midnight, I forced the kids to lay down and close their eyes. We were all SO tired and still so far from home. We finally rolled in around 1:30am. Tanner used auto drive the entire time so he did great.
It was a whirlwind quick trip to Utah in the Tesla. Lesson were learned. But it was wonderful to see family, attend Eli’s wedding, and be there so sweet Sunny’s special blessing. Parker was stoked to be home alone all weekend and attend the Book of Mormon reading challenge with the youth. But he was not feeling so great and had to leave early on Saturday to come home and rest and cough... But all in all, it was a success!
