Last Week of Spring Break (Break????? Not really)
This "break" hasn't felt like a break at all. In fact, I feel like I'm going to have a nervous BREAKdown. I'm not ready to go back to school and schedules tomorrow. But oh well. I love my job and everyone is happy. But this week was crazy and I feel like every day this month has had something major with doctor's appointments and stuff.
Monday, I worked out finally and then I set up a playdate for Ray to see friends at the park. Thankfully, it was a nice warm sunny day which does wonders for my mental health. Ray had a blast and it was fun talking to Najia. We took the kids to go get ice cream and that ended the date perfectly.
Tuesday, Ray had 2 teeth pulled and she did so great. She was so high. She doesn't remember a thing but she was a little nervous going into it and cried after but she didn't realize she was crying. She was so sweet. She was feeling better by the time she had play practice and did great there too. And THEN she had mutual! What a champ. Jack had soccer and Tanner was at Phil's Med Spa open house (and won me some free Botox!) so I had too shuttle the kids to all the things.
Wednesday we had the Alarm Guy come and fix the alarm that has been beeping all day for weeks. I think we were all slowly going insane. When he was done, I took the kids to Disney and guess who we ran into on the way in? Audrey! We spent the whole day with the Brown's and it was sooooo fun. I love Kathy Brown with all my heart. Mabel and Ray were like 2 peas in a pod and Jack could not be separated from Eddie. Audrey took care of Ella and Kathy Brown and I chatted the entire time. It was the best day. No one fought, everyone was happy. It was the best!! And what are the odds??? The last time they were in California, we ran into them at the Newport Beach Boat Parade! Crazy! I love that family and hope we can stay connected forever!
Thursday I had to wake up early (which was hard because we stayed at Disney until it closed at 10pm) but I was able to FINALLY get my mammogram and my gallbladder ultrasound! Both were easy and pleasant. I'd never had a mammogram before but it was not bad at all. I was able to listen to my book and just enjoy the morning alone before more craziness. I took the kids to the Spectrum to see a movie before MCO. Jack and Rayleigh went to the Minecraft Movie while Ella and I saw Snow White. Why did I cry? I think I've been feeling VERY overwhelmed and the chance I had to just sit and watch a movie with Ell and listen to the sweet songs just really pulled at my heart strings!
We grabbed a quick bite to eat at Shake Shack and then cruised on over to MCO. The OTHER super stressful thing was that everyone had to make their own costumes for the concert this year and I literally have no idea how to sew. So I delegated to Ricky and they got it done. The kids had their costume check and all was well. I was so grateful. Thank goodness for Ricky!!!!!!!!!!!! We love Ricky!!!! I had fun with my parking lot pals and was feeling all the happy vibes when we got to my parents after MCO.
I'd dropped Parker off at my parents after Disney to he could be there for a couple interviews he had on Thursday. He's going to work the parking garage for the Marriott in San Juan on the weekends. Thanks to Matt Harrison! He also interviewed with a guy to sell pest control but it was really weird so he'd not going to do that. Luckily, Tanner got him a job working as the assistant to the Activities Director at his building! So yay! That will be perfect for Parker!
It was a nice visit with my parents and then we headed home.
I'm tired.
Friday was Parker's Prom!!! I also worked out and got a massage before we left and was feeling all the amazing endorphins after that.
Saturday, I worked out and had Tanner help the kids clean the house while I was in the garage "for my birthday". They did a pretty good job. But then it started POURING down rain and they didn't cancel Jack's game so we bundled up and luckily the rain stopped but it was a fun game. Jack got knocked down a few times but jumped back up and even though they lost, we are so proud of how hard Jack played! Way to go, Jack!
Then Tanner let me shop at Target for new clothes before we went to our cooking class in San Juan. We had a double date with Ivonia and he husband, Travis. But then Tanner's buddy, Xander came in with his wife Courtney and we all kinda cooked and ate together. It was a super fun night making Thai food and it was really yummy, too! It was fun spending time with Ivonia because Tanner sees her everyday and loves her so much but I never get to see her! She's the sweetest!
We got home and got the kids to bed and man, my bed never felt so good.
Sunday we had a beautiful morning at church and then Jack had a fun birthday party for Logan. I gave Kristina that book I found at my retreat called "Breath as Prayer" and wrote my testimony in it for her. I really love her and love this faith journey she's on. She's truly glowing in Christ's love.
We had chicken n rice and now we are all relaxing. Parker went down to Emerald's with Gavin to have "Thanksgiving dinner" since they were in New York for actual Thanksgiving and it's their favorite holiday.
Please bless that this week is smooth and fun and easy and that I find some balance.
With Parker's mission papers, doctors visits, phone calls, arrangements, disciplining the kids, and keeping up with the house, it's been crazy and I'm exhausted. I didn't realize Parker needs his wisdom teeth out before he can submit his papers so I hustled and made soooo many phone calls to get him in next week. Sheesh!!!!
Did I tell you that Wade invited us on a Mediterranean cruise? We thought a lot about it (hours and hours of planning and thinking) and decided not to go. But now we are both really wanting to do SOMETHING so we are trying to take the kids to Mexico! Wish us luck!!!!!!
