Idaho!
This past weekend we went to Idaho to visit Tanner's family and see my friend (and senior year prom date) get married! The trip started off pretty rough.
Tanner scheduled our flight for 8pm (right smack dab in the middle of Parker's bed time...) So I thought, "Hmmm, maybe I'll get him some night time cold medicine to help him sleep on the plane. He DOES have a little bit of a runny nose so it couldn't hurt!" Nope, it didn't hurt him.... in fact it didn't even work! It made him SUPER HYPER! He was a happy boy but oh so squirmy. When we got on the plane they had to move us because we were sitting next to a lady with a baby and so there were 5 people on a row that only had 4 oxygen masks... Well, they moved us to the VERY BACK OF THE PLANE! How rude! At least upgrade us to first class or something.
Anyhoo, I felt really bad because Parker was so wired and we sat next to a guy who seemed not to like wild children (to put it lightly) Luckily Parker fell asleep shortly after take off. Well we got to SLC at 10:45pm and hopped in a rental car and drove to Blackfoot. We got in at 2:30 am and were SUPER tired! So, I opened up my bag to grab my PJs and was astonished to find that my ENTIRE can of formula was spilled out all over EVERYTHING! Can we say upset? Needless to say, I was not up for that after a long night of traveling. Thank you Kaitlin for helping me clean it up the next day!
Friday, Tanner and I visited Rexburg (it was fun to go back to where I went to college!) and did a session in the new, beautiful temple! (Thanks Grammy and Grandpa for watching Parker Hoo Haw) While we were there we discussed our future (kids, jobs, school, money...), mostly we talked about me getting a job. We said a little prayer and felt re-newed (As we always do when we leave the temple) and as soon as we got in the car I saw that I had a missed call. It was from a lady who had found my resume on Monster.com and she wants me to come into her Newport Beach office for an interview as soon as we get back! I couldn't believe it! What a testimony builder of faith and prayer! It only took .5 seconds for Heavenly Father to respond to that one! I truly feel like this was a miracle. Basically Tanner and I agreed that we'd wait until after I've landed a job and worked a few months before continuing on with our family, I guess Heavenly Father knows the desires of my heart and is on my side! :-) So lets get started! woohoo! :-)
Saturday was sooo much fun! First we went to Idaho Falls and attended Jacob and Diedre's wedding! It was so beautiful! They look so happy together! It was so great being in the temple with one of my best friends and being there for one of the biggest days of his life. We went to his luncheon and gave him our "special" gift and then headed back to Blackfoot.
We had to leave Parker with our friends, Tad and Lacy, while we went to the Jr. Miss Pageant and it was a little nerve wracking for me. I guess I'm a little attached to my son. But he did fine and there's no one in the world I trust more then Tad and Lacy. When we picked him up he was asleep in Lacy's arms. So sweet!
So, about the Pageant! It was so fun! Kaitlin got first runner up and more awards than any other girl! It was exactly what she wanted because now she doesn't have to go to state (which would be super stressful) And Kim and Monte are happy that she won over $2,000 in scholarship money! She won an award in fitness (what a tight bod!) and in self expression (she's so poised and mature!) Her talent was this amazing dance that she choreographed (She should have won for that won, too...) Great job Kaitlin! We love you!
Sunday was Easter and it was a fabulous day. We all went to church together as a family. Kim and Monte did the Easter meeting and Parker fell asleep in Kaitlin's arms. We had the most delicious dinner after church and then had an Easter egg hunt! The Easter bunny left us prizes in our eggs! Cool!
We took off for Utah again on Monday and made a quick stop at Spenc and Mona Kay's to see Gavin! The kids were absolutely adorable and Gavin is so precious!!! I wish we lived next door! Oh, and Mona Kay looked fantastic, size 2 jeans already!
We had an amazing weekend! I love Spring! Thanks, Honey, for the great vacation! I love you!!!

Just a quick note to tell you thanks so much for the fun Easter!! We had a great time. Nicole and I were talking yesterday about how fun it was and how grateful we were for you heading that up! We enjoyed the visit and the support at Jr. Miss. We miss you guys already! We talked about coming for Parker's birthday but I think you guys should think about coming for the girls dance revue. I think it is May 9th & 10th. What do you think???
Love,
Kim
