LEGOLAND

A long time ago I purchased a voucher for 3 nights at the Pacific Palisades Hotel in Carlsbad with 2 two-day Park Hopper tickets to Legoland for $300! We planned on going over Memorial Day Weekend but then Tanner got accepted to PA school in Pennsylvania and that kind of put a wrench in our Legoland plans. The voucher expired on December 31st and I figured we'd be home for the holidays so I re-booked our stay for the 2 days following Christmas! It worked out PERFECTLY and we had a blast in San Diego!

We drove down to the hotel and got checked in and were so excited when we saw the room and the breathtaking view! Doesn't get much better!

Angleuis came down and hung out with us for the night! We went to dinner at Islands and then took turns watching each other's kids so we could enjoy some adult time in the hot tub.

The next morning we woke up and ate breakfast out on our balcony  Since our room came with a fridge and microwave we bought a bunch of food at the store and enjoyed our breakfasts and lunches (and late night hot chocolate and treats) from the comfort of our hotel room. Legoland was just a short walk from our room so it was super convenient. Here's Parker enjoying some morning cartoons in his Dad's shoes...

Tanner's hair got pretty long while we have been living in PA (No where to get a decent hair cut) But I LOVE his long locks!!!!

Legoland was PACKED! They had 3 times more people visiting the day we were there than they have on their busiest day of the year! So, needless to say, we took things slow and just tried to let Parker enjoy all that Legoland had to offer. Luckily, while the parents wait in long lines there are Lego creating stations set up where the kids can build and play with other kids. Perfect!  To be honest though, we got pretty tired of all the long lines and started calling Legoland "Loserland" ;-)

This line we waited in for over 2 hours. And since it was our first time we had no idea that the ride was actually super lame. But oh well, Parker had fun. He made friends with this awesome group of boys and they built the "hugest tower ever!" It was fun to watch them interact and play.

He also made a bunch of vehicles and raced them down these tracks.

It was getting to be around dinner time by this time and we were fading fast. Tanner and I were acting a little crazy while Parker drove this Lego car around. Luckily it was a short drive over to Carls for some sustenance.

After a quick bite to eat we bundled up and went back over to Legoland and watched the fireworks! And then the most magical thing happend! They kept the park open an extra hour (due to the major huge crowds) only not every was aware of this fantastic fact and we were able to run onto a bunch of fun rides we missed earlier due to crazy long lines!

Legoland turned out to be super fun!!!!

It was back to the hotel for a nice night's sleep before another super fun day at Legoland!

The next day we started out at the Aquarium which was small but really fun!

We were first in line to run into the park and try and get in front for one of the cool roller coaster rides we'd missed the day before! Since we were the first ones on the ride they let us ride it twice in a row! Sweet!

Merry Christmas Lego Santa! They had this whole place set up with snow where the kids could built snow balls and stuff. We stayed way away from that.... ew. Who wants to play in the snow in sunny So Cal???

This line took forever and the log ride was lame.... :-( Tanner stayed behind to take pictures so he snapped this one of me being bummed.

We spent some time in the Lego Car building area and Parker did a great job! He even got to race it down the track! I vividly remember building Lego cars with the my brothers old Legos and all us neighborhood kids would race them down the drive way. Good times!

And guess what??!? We ran into Tanner's old college roommate/our friends from Seattle! Clark's parents live in San Diego and they were visiting for Christmas and decided to take their kids to Legoland, too! It was so good to see them and hang out for a bit!

On our way down we stopped by the San Diego temple, where Tanner and I were sealed for time and all eternity almost 9 years ago! It is my favorite temple and so gorgeous!

We had a great time in San Diego and I'm so glad we got to take Parker to Legoland! He was the perfect age and it's the best having these fun little get away's- just the 3 of us! We are a Lego loving family!
