Halloween 2013

It seems like every Halloween Tanner is absent for some reason or another. This Halloween was no exception. He had to work up in Norcal since Halloween was on a Thursday.
Parker had Friday off of school so Halloween Day was his official last day of school. He finished like a champ and was as cheerful and positive as ever when he waved goodbye to his friends. They cried and were sad to see him go. But Parker is so amazing at making friends that he hardly felt anything but joy and excitement as he anticipates his new school and new adventure.
We planned on having our family dress up together but since Tanner wasn't going to be here we bagged that idea. Parker was going to be a zombie but when I found the old police officer costume in the closet I suggested he try it on. He liked it so much he wore it all day!
After school we went to the Shops for some trick or treating fun! It would have been MORE fun if Rayleigh had wanted to stay in her stroller but she just likes to be held which is so sweet but kills my back. I carried her in the Britaxi and it was tough! We went to about 3/4 of the stores and really didn't get too much candy. It was way crowded too... luckily Parker is a trooper and was just happy to be out with me.
That night after my parents got home from the temple we had some vegetable soup and then Mom came with us trick or treating in the neighborhood. We tried AGAIN to put Rayleigh in her super nice stroller but she wasn't having it.  I had to hold her and at one point I was even nursing her door to door! The good news is that Parker scored a ton of candy and had a great time with us girls. He wasn't so into the spooky houses. But he was brave!!!!! When we got home we did the ceremonial dumping and sorting of all the candy. My favorite!
Rayleigh's first Halloween was a success! Cute Tanner even found a few decorations and placed them by our door and handed out candy at our new house!
Hopefully next year we can finally trick or treat together!
