Easter Egg Hunt With The Family

Every year for the past 4-5 years my family has all gotten together to paint eggs and have a big old crazy Easter egg hunt! We have never been able to participate and were so excited to join in the fun this year! Jon got back just in time! We all met at this wonderful splash pad/pool/park over by where Josi was married. My Mom was really the one responsible for making it all possible. She brought all the eggs and decorating supplies. She brought all the FILLED plastic eggs. She even brought an entire ham dinner! Did I mention to you how amazing she is?
We headed over early and enjoyed one last dip in the pool. It's like paradise over there!

The kids spent time decorating A TON of eggs and then Jon, Laura, and I hid over 100 eggs over in the park/grassy area. They were so excited to hunt for eggs and it was just about the cutest thing ever watching them run around. They were so happy! My Dad helped Noah find a few eggs which was just so sweet. Max and Kim found the 2 golden eggs and Parker was SOOOOO bummed. I guess it's just the age but man, he was like crushed. GET OVER IT! Sheesh, it's not like Nanny didn't spoil you rotten all week! ;-) In the words of Elsa, LET IT GOOOOO!

Poor Kaela was NOT feeling well. It was her 3rd birthday the day before so we brought her some books because she LOVES big hard back novels. She hugged them and has since been seen sleeping with them. But anyway, she could barely breath and is getting her tonsils out when her 10 days of antibiotics are over. Poor thing. She also thought the colored vinegar looked enticing and took a sip. Bad idea! She's just the most curious little girl!

Ready. Set. GO!!!

Jon had some sort of toe issue. He suffered through it all during his cruise and had it treated that morning. I remember when his toe was stung by a jellyfish and it was all nasty and he used to shove it in my face. Big brothers... whatch gonna do?

Like I said, Parker was pretty upset about not finding the golden egg. He DID find one on Easter morning that the Easter bunny brought him. So no harm done. But talk about drama. After the hunt we all sat down and ate the yummiest picnic ham dinner! Ham, cheesy potatoes, beans, rolls, lemonade! It was so delicious! My Mom completely out did herself!

We stayed and let the kids run around and play in the setting sunlight. They made up games and explored while the grown ups talked. It was a magical day and I know we all made memories to last a lifetime!
