Big Bear Snow Day

The Saturday between Christmas and New Year's we decided to drive up to Big Bear for a little fun in the snow! Unfortunately all of Southern California had the same idea. We made the most of our abnormally long bumper to bumper drive up the mountain and enjoyed each other's company none the less. The baby took a little snooze in the car so it wasn't a complete and total waste of time. ;-)

By the time we reached civilization we were all starving and in desperate need of the bathroom. So we tried to find the best restaurant according to reviews and settled on the Log Cabin for some good old fashioned mountain man dining! It was pretty good!

See all of the cars? This was when we were leaving and people just kept driving up the mountain. There was NO turning back!

The view was pretty amazing, though. At one point we could even see the ocean! The ocean from the snowy mountains! Such a cool site to behold!

So basically we pulled off the road to this little park and let the kids run around in the hard, packed down snow for about 20 minutes. That was the extent of our snow excursion. But they loved it! Winning!

I guess we really aren't "snow" people after all.....
