Parker's First Week of 2nd Grade

Parker's first day of 2nd grade was July 5th! 2015!

It was excited to start school at the same place where he ended his last year of school. Tanner was able to drive us to school that morning and wait on the playground with the rest of Parker's class for the bell to ring. Some of his very best buddies are in his class this year so he's super excited. His teacher is amazing- she's been teaching for 15 years and has a Master's Degree. She's spunky and sweet. Parker loves school- always has and hopefully always will!

Tanner gave Parker a Father's Blessing that night and it was beautiful. He blessed Parker to have courage and be a good example, to learn and have his mind enlightened. Parker said his heart felt like lava during his blessing. That, son, is the spirit. It's a wonderful feeling, isn't it?

We hardly ever see Kassidy but she left this sweet note for Parker which really made him feel special!

We hardly knew what to do with ourselves when Parker was at school. Rayleigh tried to look more studious...

And Jack did some learning of his own and even grabbed his toys for the first time!

We had lots of quiet time and an abundance of snuggles.

Which then made Jack not want to be put down- so after school, when Parker was back home, I threw Jack in the Britaxi!

We tried to get outside and enjoy the sunshine.... I think it was a success.

On Wednesday I decided I'd waited long enough to get some errands done. I have a hard time leaving the house to get anything accomplished with 2 babies. Parker is a huge help so after school we drove to the shopping center. Our first stop was TJMaxx. Both babies wouldn't fit in one cart so Parker took Rayleigh and I took Jack. Rayleigh did NOT want to be in the cart but would run wild if I let her out. So she screamed and cried and pulled hair and laughed and giggled and played and screamed some more. That was all in the space of 5 minutes. Check out was ridiculous. She was NOT happy about standing in line for 2 minutes. She's just crazy. I received enough dirty looks to last me a lifetime with Parker trying to cheer up a melting down Rayleigh and Jack crying as well. It was all I could do to get back out to the car. When I finally got all the kids safely into the car they were fine but I was not. Tanner called and I just broke down. I said, "It's just hard. It's just hard taking these kids out and getting anything done. I'm not complaining, it's just the truth. I try to be strong but the screaming and kicking and crying does eventually wear me down. (ugly face crying) I just wish you were here to help me but I know that's not a fair request. I'm really not complaining. I guess I just need some comfort and encouragement. If you were here....." Then I looked in my rear view mirror and who do I see??? TANNER! IN A NICE NEW VAN! I had absolutely NO idea. Talk about perfect timing. I threw my phone down, ran into his arms, buried my face in his shoulder and just cried. Tears of joy and relief. Mostly I was glad he could go to  Target an Ralph's with me so I wouldn't have to battle it out alone. ha ha Just kidding.

We all hopped into the van and Tanner showed us around. The kids LOVE it and so do I. I sure am a lucky girl. Oh and guess what else? Tanner got a $20,000.00 raise. In case you were ever wondering. Tanner is rad. He's the man. And he's alllll mine.

The first week of school was pretty good for everyone in our family!
