Easter 2017
I tried to be super prepared for Easter this year because last year we had some pre church contention. Also, knowing that Jack's birthday was just the day before, I wanted to make sure we made each event feel special in its own way. Parker got up with Rayleigh and helped her do a little craft in his room so we could sleep a little longer. Jack woke up at 8 and we made our way downstairs to see what the Easter Bunny brought us! There were eggs hidden all over the house and 3 beautiful baskets filled with toys and new bathing suits! Fun! Everyone loves their new "gobbles" (Goggles)
When we got Jack out of his crib, we noticed that he'd thrown up in the night! Poor guy!!!! So we quickly clean him off and changed him, and took some selfies.
Ray was so excited to find eggs and see that they were filled with candy! I promptly took all the candy away so that the kids wouldn't eat any before church. She busied herself by sorting the colors of candy in their coordinating colored egg. She's OCD like her mother...
We gave ourselves plenty of time to get ready for church in our matching outfits and took a few pictures. But when we arrived at church I realized I REALLY needed a shirt under my dress. Good grief. So I took Jack home and quickly changed. It broke my heart to miss sacrament meeting. And then Rayleigh would NOT sit still during primary and Tanner suggested we just take the babies home. Because I took so long agreeing with him, I missed the opportunity to run back to church for Relief Society. So I basically missed out on ALL of church and that was a huge disappointment. Lucky for me I have the scriptures, words of modern prophets, videos and uplifting music to fill each and every day with the kind of hopeful messages I yearn to hear. The kids were clearly very tired so we let them rest (including Tanner) before having a nice ham Easter dinner.
Jack's poor little face.... he fell yesterday at the pool.
Rayleigh fell asleep on the way home from church.
Knowing that yesterday was going to be a day filled with sugar and treats, we waited to do a birthday cake for Jack. We made him a chocolate cake and sang to him when he woke up from his nap. He was a little overwhelmed but then realized chocolate cake is awesome!!! He's so stinking cute!!!! I love this sweet boy!
