Parker's 1:1 Date to Disneyland
I don't know who was more excited for Parker's 1:1 date, he or I. Tanner came home a little early on Monday so and took the littles to Rayleigh's gymnastics so we could spend the night at the parks together. We loaded up on Chick A Lay on the way there and he made me a playlist of all my favorite throwback songs. I love Parker's taste in music and more often than not, I'm playing HIS music. We talked about his wedding day and which temple he'd want to get married in. Yikes!!!!!!!! I'm not ready for THAT! But he's stepping into manhood like a boss and I'm so proud of him. He worked really hard teaching swim and was kind and compassionate with the kids. He is getting straight As in his highschool classes and though his college class have been super challenging, he's learning how best to navigate them and he's hitting his stride. He's going to have a very busy summer and I'm super excited for him. He's going to make a lot of unforgettable memories!
His one goal at Disneyland was to find a bag for his lightsaber. We ran all the way across Star Wars Land and even to the Trading Post in Downtown Disney but they were all sold out! He was so bummed. But I can't tell you how many people commented on his "orange" lightsaber. People thought it was so cool! Some kids even stopped him and asked for him to teach them some moves! He was like a little super star!
I love going to Disneyland with Parker. It's kind of like "our place". We can talk and laugh for hours and even though we were both soooo tired, we stayed until midnight. Parker is my right hand man. We usually cook lunch in the kitchen together at the same time each day and show each other memes or reels. He is a good friend and gives really good advice. He's helpful and almost always does what he needs to do with a cheerful countenance. Yes, he is surly and has his moments. But for the most part, we get along like best friends and respect each other. I'm so proud of his efforts to get up each morning for seminary and attend the temple each week. He serves the young men willingly and is a good example to the littles. He and I have a ton of inside jokes and he "gets" me better than Tanner. We just have to look at each other to know what the other is thinking.
Parker, you're amazing. You have always been an easy 1st born child. You make me look like a rockstar mom! Thanks! These next 3 years with you are going to be out of this world. You are going to accomplish so much and I'm so happy to have a front row seat to the awesomeness!
I love you, Bug!!!!!!
Taking pics with me was not his favorite so I took selfies with his light saber
