Memorial Week

It's the best working at the kids' school and I'm going to be sad not to have Jack's class as our buddies next year. I don't know who our buddies are going to be.... But it has been fun being with Jack. He never hesitates to hug me and show me love at school and I love him for that. Because that's why I'm there!!! I'm there to love on my kids! Jack also had Activity Days which made him so happy! 

Parker and I met with his teacher and were finally able to congratulate her on her daughter winning American Idol. What an accomplishment. Parker has such a bright future and it was so fun discussing his options with her. He's not doing too well in his college Econ and English classes and I hope and pray he doesn't have to retake them... but we'll see! He went to Newport on Friday to do baptisms with the youth and then my mom picked him up so he could spend the night. My mom and Dad took him to a really cool car show in Irvine on Saturday morning and he was sooooo stoked. He's one lucky kid to have such amazing grandparents who take the time to spend one on one time with him and enrich his life.

On Wednesday I hosted Relief Society and we made "sunshine boxes" to bring to people in the community who might need a little added happiness. I was pretty tired and on top of things so I was able to work out and then take a nice relaxing bath before everyone came over. I invited Desiree too and she came which was so nice!

Friday we ditched our plans and decided to stay home which totally worked out because Sophia was able to come over and she's my favorite. She always brings a smile to my face! Rayleigh did the leg work and the kids hustled to get her over. So cute.

Saturday, after chores and errands and relaxing, Tanner and I went to dinner at Ever After in Irvine which was super good and then be with Max and Cami and Cort and my parents and even Jon in the temple for Max's first time. It was a really nice night. I always love it when we walk out of the temple and see the fireworks at Disneyland off in the distance. We are so proud of Max and know he will have the best experiences on his mission in France. 

Sunday was nice and relaxing and the kids played and played alllll day without a single argument and I read a book while Tanner took a nap. They played so well that they stayed outside until it was dark and even taught themselves how to do flips off the shed onto the trampoline. 

But then Monday Tanner got mad at me. I met Shelley in Pasadena for brunch and to grab a giant box of hand me downs from Dan (her celebrity boss). I left before Tanner even woke up in the morning and was planning to be back by noon. We didn't have any plans for the day. But somehow Tanner got mad at me for leaving and I was in big trouble. I seriously don't understand why he gets so mad at me. The only thing I can think of is that he's jealous??? But I had fun and I LOVE spending time with Shelley. She's the best.

I came home to an angry Tanner and we battled it out for a little while before getting over it. The kids wanted to go shopping so we took them to Target and they were happy. We then came home and I scanned 2 of my friend's daughters who are both pregnant (so fun!!!) and then we swam. Tanner BBQed us a delicious dinner (thank you, Tanner!) and then I had to slip out and take some graduation photos for Abby. They turned out sooooooo gorgeous! She was so easy to photograph. It took like 20 mins. Then it was back home to take down flags (thank you, Parker, for waking up early to get them set up) and get ready for bed. 

It was a nice week and I'm thankful for the day we had to remember those who went before us. I feel them near and am grateful for our eternal ties. Family is forever!
