Mother's Day

 Every year, Mother's Day comes up right after my birthday and in between both of those celebrations is Teacher Appreciation week. Needless to say, it's GREAT for me! I love all of the attention and gifts and praise. I will say that it can get a little aggravating for Tanner. Usually, each year, he has a mild temper tantrum. This year was no different and on the day before Mother's Day, I had a big list of things I wanted to get done (as a family! Not just me sitting there while everyone else worked, of course). Tanner was supportive and on board up until the rubber met the road and I was NOT gonna let him shirk the responsibilities. We got in a HUGE fight. We both cried. And then he helped me wash the sheets and clean the house. He also made delicious skewers and we sat in the hot tub and enjoyed a nice evening.

We had a birthday party for Jordan at the park after school on Tuesday and a birthday party for Harper after school on Thursday and also Activity Days for Ray at a different park (but at the same time). 

But the week ended a little rough for Ray whose teacher us just the WORST and causes her so much anxiety. I let her stay home on Thursday (I'd been gone all day to Disney on  Wednesday and it was not a good day for her at school. She called me twice from the nurses office because her tooth hurt.. and then she lost it). But I OF COURSE let her stay home on Thursday because she works extra hard to be good for her awful teacher and a person can only handle so much, ya know??? Then, I brought her home early on Friday because she had a bad stomach ache and who am I to tell her to go back to that awful woman?!?!? So anyhoo, I took her home and loved on her and then went to lunch with my friend Michelle which was so fun. 

Jack had a playoff game that evening and he scored 2 goals!!! It was a really fun game but they lost. Jack loves playing soccer though and I'm so glad he was able to play this spring! Saturday we got a lot done (would have been better without the fighting) But the kids were super well behaved and made big fort in the backyard and played so well together!

Sunday, Tanner made me a delicious pancake breakfast and used the special Hawaiian syrup he ordered after we enjoyed it on our last trip. Church was so special and sweet. The speakers were great and the kids sang so nicely. Ray sang loud and proud and sounded amazing! She also gave a great talk in Primary and then the kids had a blast with some of the Dad's while the women had a wonderful Relief Society lesson and Crumbl cookies. Tanner made chicken n rice and cleaned it all up and had the kids help him complete a special book for me. To be fair, he bought the book several years ago but never took the time with the kids to fill it out. The kids each made me cute gifts at school and I felt so loved. The rest of the day was spent on the couch relaxing and planning some of our upcoming trips! 

I love being a mother more than anything else in my life. These kids bring so much joy to my heart and I'm so thankful I get to experience life with them. I am so eternally thankful to a loving Heavenly Father who sent these precious souls to me. It's a gift and an honor I cherish.
