My Favorite People
Bishop asked if I could watch the 3 younger kids one weekend while Lisa went with him to a work conference. I was thrilled they asked me and so honored! ;-) London specifically asked if "Channie can come watch them and bring Parker." Those 2 get along sooooo well! We all had SUCH a great time. I was so glad Tanner could spend the weekend with us, too. It's so nice having him around all the time!
I went over there on Saturday morning and we soaked up the sun by the pool for the first part of the day. The kids did their chores and swam. Abby, Tanner, and I read while the little kids splashed around.
Abby doesn't like her picture to be taken but I don't know why because she's so amazingly gorgeous.
After a day in the sun we cleaned up and headed out to the Spectrum for some shopping, dinner, and a movie. Does it get any better??
Woo hoo! Party!
Parker was so cute with London- following her around the stores and picking things out for her. I swear, these 2 are gonna get married someday. Mark my words. :-)
We went to Ruby's for dinner. Burgers, fries, and milk shakes REALLY hit the spot. YUM!!!
Then Abby and I took the kids to see Epic while the boys saw Iron Man 3. Thier movie was longer than ours was so we let the kids play a few arcade games while we waited for the boys to get out.
The next day I spoke in church. Ya, the Bishop called me on Friday. We'd been playing a tireless game of phone tag and finally he got a hold of me and asked if I could speak. How could I say no? I was asked to speak on Father's (due to Father's Day coming up) so it was easy to sit down and feel inspired. I have the best Dad in the universe!
I actually was able to write my talk that very evening (the night before we went over to watch the kids) because Tanner took Parker to his very first Fathers and Sons campout. My parents took me out to dinner and I was so excited for a night to myself to just veg and do girly things. But I recieved a very distressed call from Parker. He was terrified because there was a fire close by and I had to talk to him for quite a while and reassure him that Daddy was an Eagle Scout and would keep him safe. As it turned out, they were evacuated. There went my "me" time. ;-) Good thing I'd written my talk because I wouldn't have wanted to miss out on any of our fun day together on Saturday and then church was bright and early Sunday morning!
It was truly a great weekend. Those kids have my heart, that's for sure. I love them so much! And Bishop and his wife are honestly 2 of my most favorite people of all time. They mean the world to me. So, maybe some day we'll share the same grandkids....??
