The West Coast is the Best Coast

Life undoubtedly loves to throw us curve balls, doesn't it?

We left Pennsylvania on a dark and stormy night and could not wait to get the heck out of there. It was a VERY trying 5 day trek back across the country but we made it. We don't know how. Angel's were most certainly attending us as we traveled. I drove about %95 of the time and my foot swelled which was disturbing. And the car started smoking in Nebraska- not exactly the place we were wanting to be left stranded. 

Tanner made the very difficult decision to stop attending PA school and was very distraught the entire drive- wondering if he'd made the right choice or not. I am very proud of him and could not love him  more for putting his family first. The Lord has blessed us beyond measure and has opened up doors we didn't even know existed. The moment we drove up to my parents house (our new home) we felt the first wave of peace. My parents had put a huge "Welcome Home" sign on the garage and were so patient and helpful  as we worked so hard to get organized and settled.

The day before we got home we stopped in Utah and Kim and Monte were able to come down and meet us. Monte gave us each a blessing and I believe that truly was the turning point for us. It was the moment we KNEW everything was going to be OK. I really can't put into words how much our parents' positive outlook,  support, encouragement, and unwavering LOVE has meant to us. We've felt inspired and safe in such a desperate and bewildering time of need. We literally could not have done this without them.

So, here we are living life to the fullest in Southern California once again. Tanner has been overwhelmingly blessed with multiple work opportunities and the smiles, hugs, and tenderness from our beloved friends and neighbors has been a healing balm to the soul. We've greatly enjoyed these days spent together- just the 3 of us. 

Tanner wrote, "The future is only as bright as your faith" on the mirror in our room and that has been our motto. 

Well, I guess all I can say is: Things are looking up!
