What's the soup du jour?
I have a few pictures here from some fun times we've been having.
Every month the Lego store has a "Free Build" evening. We went to the Shops and waited in line and while that was so boring it was all worth it when we saw the look on Parker's face when he finally got to sit down and build his free Lego kit! It was a fisherman guy (for Father's Day).
Parker was assessed at his new school and was pronounced ready for 2nd grade! All his academic achievements are at a second grade level but since he's still only 5 we are going to send him to kindergarten again. PLUS, kindergarten is only 3 hours here in California so I'll get to have my little buddy close by all year and he can help me love on his little sister.
Per Parker's request, we brought lunch and a bit of light reading down to Main Beach. That's been our routine lately- picnic lunch and reading down at the beach around noon. I tried to take a picture of my belly but it pretty much just looks like a picture of my thighs...
My first friend, Jana, has been staying with her parents since her husband has been deployed to Afghanistan She has 2 little girls and Parker and I got to play with them one day. Love my friend!!!!
We were able to babysit a sweet little 10 week old when her Mommy had to go to the dentist one day. She was soooo perfect and oh so sweet! I'm glad I've got the baby snuggling back. I've been so bitter and jaded for so long. My heart is softening... ;-)
Parker LOVED her and even read to her while I rocked her to sleep. Such a precious son I have.
Good times were had a Chick-fil-A. (Duck Face pictures)
Lindsey was in town so we all went out to BJ's together for some dessert and girl talk. Oh man, the night could have lasted forever. We did not stop to take a breath. I really needed that- in fact, I think we all did. We laughed so hard and had such a great time. Nothing beats life long friends who just "get" you. Love these beautiful ladies!
Oh, and I had a hair tragedy. My hair was literally down to my butt so I decided to get it cut a little bit. I even brought in a picture to guide the stylist a little bit... well, it didn't turn out EXACTLY how I wanted. Tanner is way bummed about it. But at least I've got these awesome prenatals and extreme hair growth during pregnancy. It's bun head for me all summer!
Eating chocolate cake after some delicious meat balls at Ikea!
My parents were in charge of the ward Memorial Day breakfast this year. They did a phenomenal job, as usual. There was a bounce house, the young men prepared pancakes, sausage and eggs, there were tons of bowls of fruit, and my Dad brought Crispy Creams, AND....... Pizza! ha ha It was a hit! It was great to be surrounded by loving ward members. My home ward is the BEST!
Can't beat being home. I think we'll stay.
