Ella and Parker's 1:1 Dates and iFly for Ray & Jack
Covid cases are skyrocketing and Tanner has been working like crazy. I know I always say that he works a million hours a week but, now, it's been taken to the next level. So, I had to take Ella on her 1:1 date without Tanner. He was actually able to play frisbee golf with David G. and that's why he had to miss being with her- but he was so happy to be able to do something outside of home/work. He had a great time! And Ella did too! I took her to a little ballet class on Saturday morning and then treated her to Starbucks.... not the most exciting time but she loved it! She even shared her special drink!
Later that day we took Rayleigh and Jack to iFly. They had been BEGGING to go so we finally did it. Parker stayed home because he is SO behind on all of this semester's assignments and he's working like a mad man to get it all done so he can enjoy a little bit of Christmas break. We told him he gets no screen time, including TV, until he's done and he's been working so hard. I'm really proud of him and I know he's learned a lot of valuable lessons these past few weeks- not just scholarly.
Anyway, back to iFly. Of course we had to wear masks and get our temperatures checked which is annoying. But it didn't take away from the fun for Rayleigh and Jack. It was Jack's first time flying and he did great! They were both beaming the biggest smiles the entire time! I was so proud of them and it made me so happy to see them so happy!
That night I took Parker on his 1:1 date. We always try so hard to win tickets to the KOST Holiday party at Disneyland and of course this year, the parks are closed. So we did the next best thing and just walked around Downtown Disney and even a little bit of CA Adventure! We drove through the very special "Chalk Walk" at the Laguna Niguel Stake Center. I've never been able to see it and it was beautiful! I was very impressed and it was the perfect way to start the night. We jammed to the MCO Christmas album and had a blast together. We were starving when we got to Disney and were so bummed when we learned that you can't EAT OR DRINK at all! What?!?!!? This COVID crap is such madness!!!! But you know us, we made the most of it. The park closed at 9 due to the Governor's mandated curfew, so we drove around a little bit to find somewhere cool to eat. We didn't have much luck and settled on Chick Fil A for Parker and nachos at Miguels for me. ha ha We picked up treats at CA Adventure before we left and ate those for dessert. We laughed a TON and had such a great time together- My right hand man and me.
I love these 1:1 dates with each of my kids. They are each such amazing individuals. They challenge me and push me to my limit and are helping me to grow in the ways Heavenly Father needs me to be the best version of myself. They are entertaining, funny, smart, and kind. And even though Jack always asks me to tell him who my favorite child is, I can't decided because I love each of them with my whole heart!
