XCaret! Day 5 and Saying Goodbye
Friday 1st- Xenotes
Started off this time with the little buffet breakfast by our room. We didn’t want to spend the majority of this epic day hungry. We knew we’d be kinda far from the resort and deep in the jungle. The food here is sooo good! I got crepes and fresh fruit, Mexican hot chocolate and of course, a piñata. Tanner got an omelet and bacon. We took a bus ride to the heart of the jungle where we were given helmets and life jackets to repel into a Xenote! Wow! This was unreal and so gorgeous! We jumped into the cenote, too, and swam around and enjoyed more adrenaline rushes! This park was in 4 sections: fire, water, air, and earth. I loved how everything incorporated the 4 earthly elements and how everything was so environmentally friendly. The next part was kayaking down the beautiful river and snorkeling in a partially enclosed cenote. These pristine natural wonders are millions of years old and we feel so blessed to have witnessed them! We ziplined into the water 3 times on the next stop. We took a break and had a jungle picnic lunch in a palapa which was yummy and unique. Then headed for a water slide, another zip line, a beautiful swim down the River, and a cliff jump! What a day!

We forgot about the fact that we needed Covid tests to enter back into America so we quickly got that done. We were a little worried for a minute thinking, "What if the tests come back positive and we have to stay here and quarantine for days???" When the tests came back negative we were so relieved and then we got the brilliant idea to prank our friends and family since it was April Fools Day. We told them the tests came back positive and that we had to stay and it was pretty funny to freak some people out.
We ended with a delicious buffet dinner which once again blew our minds and then cozied up at the bar for the nightly show at the resort. What talent! And then can you guess? Yes, we collapsed into bed.
On our travel day home we were able to sleep in a little bit and enjoy the yummy buffet breakfast before beginning our 15 hour journey home. Whew! Happy 18th Anniversary, Tanner! I think we are getting a hang of this marriage thing!
