Mexico Day 2: Xcaret
Well guess what? We slept great. Like so hard I had no idea where I was when I woke up. Tanner woke up early and grabbed some groceries and crepes to share. It took us a little longer to get our acts together this morning, but we finally hit the road down to Xcaret park around 10:30.
The first thing we did was float the river. I’ve been dreaming of taking the kids down this river since Tanner and I did it a few years ago. It was so cool! The kids LOVED it. And since it’s so hot and humid here, it was so refreshing.
The river ended near the beach and we took some pictures and then sat down for a buffet lunch. We were all hungry and the food hit the spot. We had a gorgeous view of the ocean and enjoyed the soft breezes. Jack had 4 ice cream cones and I gotta say, I’m pretty proud. We were all sufficiently stuffed and ready for the next adventure.
We took a path that led us down to see some wild animals like turtles, manta rays, and dolphins. We stopped to snorkel for a little while which the kids loved! They are in their element when they are swimming- especially in the ocean.
After snorkeling, we stumbled upon the aquarium which was really cool, especially the jelly fish! Then we found the path that led to the children’s playground which was so incredibly epic! They had tree houses and climbing nets and water slides into cenotes! There were water falls and splash pads and it was all set in the corner of the park tucked into the jungle. So so so cool.
At the end of the day, everyone was understandably tired. But not exhausted enough to miss the night show! We grabbed some snacks and scored a front row seat.
