Peterson Ohana Kona Vacation Day 1
We woke up at 4am and Gavin took us to the airport at 4:30. We actually did pretty well with the early morning wake up call and got to the airport, through security, and to our gate in good time. We flew to Sacramento at 6am and arrived at 7. We then had a layover and flew to Hawaii at 10:30am. We all did pretty well on the flight. Tanner and I are both excited to lay down and our tummies kinda hurt. The flight to Hawaii always goes by pretty fast!
We arrived at 1pm Hawaii time and our car was waiting for us. We headed straight to the Queen shops for Obisic and Fish and Chips. Yummmm. It was so good and made me so happy. Then we headed to a local grocery store and with our ChatGPT meal plan in hand, tried our best to shop. But… the food here is expensive.
Like, what? We usually go to Costco but we are trying to meal plan and have more fruits and veggies. Well, the last item scanned was a watermelon that was $37. I said we could do without the exorbitant watermelon. Sheesh. But the food still cost $450!!! Ugh we got 4 frozen chicken breast and it was $30! What is going on?????? And the people in the store were mostly locals and they looked like they hated us. The kids were being crazy and the vibes were not high. I was glad when we finally left.
We got to the condo and got all settled which felt good. We headed straight to the pool to swim and watch the sunset (which was so pretty) Ella made friends and the kids got their wiggles out. When the sun was going down, it got kinda chilly!
We are all ready for bed now and can’t wait to sleep. We are all tired. Tomorrow will be a nice relaxing day!
