Peterson Ohana Kona Vacation Day 2

We all woke up at 4am and had to force ourselves to go back to sleep until the sun came up. But it was glorious. We all felt so much better after a good night’s rest. Tanner made us banana pancakes and scrambled eggs for breakfast and then we packed up for the beach!

We arrived at Mauna Kea around 8:30am and stayed until about 3:00. It’s the most beautiful beach. They had a cool floating mat out in the ocean and the kids had a blast swimming out there and playing on it. We snorkeled a ton and saw all kinds of fish. When we finally got Parker in the water to snorkel, a turtle swam right up to him and wouldn’t leave him alone! It was crazy! Parker spent most of his time sitting on the beach under an umbrella yet somehow got sunburned in the shade. Actually, we are all sun burned.

The Hawaiian sun burns a little stronger. But being in the water all day was awesome. We packed sandwiches and snacks and everyone felt really good all day. We left and went string to Obisic for our daily dose of shave ice. Oh man, it the best! Then Tanner and Parker ran to the store for a few more items and the kids and I took showers and got cozy.

We made  yummy teriyaki chicken and rice dinner (with pineapple) and then the kids watched a movie while Tanner and I rode bikes to the pool to watch the sunset.

A solid day in Hawaii!
