My Chillins

Here are a few random pictures and events from the past week or so....

Rayleigh wore a ring that was mine as a baby. It was a gift from a dear friend and my mom kept it all these years so I could have my daughter wear it some day. After a few minutes (while I was vacuuming) I looked over and noticed that it had slipped off and was no longer on her finger. With great despair I thought the ring was lost forever but Parker found it in the folds of her clothes. Whew. Close call!

Parker started playing soccer with Just For Kicks- a coach who teaches kids the basics and let's them play and have fun as they learn! Here is Parker- #5. Ya, he's super tall.

I love my morning cuddles with Rayleigh. She's such a sweet pie! I love her rolls and her super soft skin. Mmmmmm babies. And her sleepy eyes are pretty much adorable.

This girl has found a new friend! Herself! She kept trying to touch this pretty little girl and would laugh and smile and talk to her. So funny! "Hi friend!!!"

So big! My  kids are the best and I love trying to snap pictures of them together. Parker has definitely gotten the shaft these past 6 months in terms of pictures of him. But I don't think he minds. He's always so obliging when I want to take a picture of the 2 of them.

Since Rayleigh is just about consistently sleeping in her crib for naps in the morning I decided it was high time that we started working on losing these last 10-12 pounds of baby fat. My only purpose in doing this, of course, is so that I can gain 45 pounds again when I get pregnant. ha ha A girl can dream, right? In all honesty, I want to get back into shape and have my clothes fit again. So, Parker and I will start swimming together in the mornings when they start heating the pool and I'm going to start doing my workout video and ride the bike again. I LOVE eating healthy. There's so much good food out there! So, I'm kind of loving our fridge right now.

I love Rayleigh's eyes. I could stare at them all day. Such a cool color of blue/green!

Parker took this of us one night. I know it's hard to see but I got that cute mermaid onesie for her at the Sawdust Festival in Laguna Beach last summer. It was the one thing I purchased for her that was pure splurge. I love it. She's my little mermaid!!!

Such a happy girl first thing in the morning! And always!

We love getting breakfast at Awful Annie's on Saturday game days. It's starting to be a fun family tradition of ours!

Tanner got me new RayBan sunglasses with my Rx in them for my birthday. I HAD to have him come with me to Lenscrafters because there was no way I was doing that by myself with 2 kids. It took FOREVER!!! I was pretty grouchy. But all's well that ends well! Parker and I had fun trying on glasses. He looks good in everything!

That particular day Parker was driving us nuts. I don't know what it was but the poor kid needed more than his parents could provide as far as entertainment... and patience. So I started texting Kim saying things like, "Oh Kim, You are such a great Grammy!" And "you're so beautiful! And such a good cook!" After a while she cut to the chase and said, "Is this leading up to anything?" I texted her and asked if she would want Parker to come visit for a week this summer and with bated breath awaited her reply. With a resounding "YES!!!" she texted back and said, "Get that kid on a plane!" Wooooo hooo! Parker's going to have a blast with Grammy and Papa this summer! He's such a good kid that I know he'll be easy to watch. Tanner and I are excited for him to spend that precious, memory making one on one time with them. Meanwhile we will watch grown up TV! (it's the little things, people) This was the picture we sent to her when we said, "Really?!?!?! Yay!!!!!"

We are loving our pool!

This day there was just one other group of boys at the pool. About 4-5 boys who looked just slightly older than Parker who were with a "big brother" type of guy. They were playing football in the pool and invited Parker to play along. Let me tell you, Parker was in heaven and those boys were so sweet to him. The baby just laid down in the grass and took a nap and I enjoyed the sunshine! It was an absolutely perfect afternoon!

Everyone tells me that Rayleigh and Parker look a lot alike. They mention that it's easy to tell that they come from the same family. And of course that means that Rayleigh looks like her Dad. Let's hope that after her hair grows in she starts looking more like mommy! I'm not gonna give up without a fight! :-) But here is a side by side of the both of them when they were about the same age. Clearly we've come a long way with camera technology. But oh man, these 2 children have my whole heart. I am a lucky mom, that's for sure!
