Halloween Fun

Man, I love my kids! 

And we have been having the BEST time together checking off all the spooky, Halloween fun on our Bucketlist!

We had an amazing Stake Primary activity on Saturday. I went early to help set up and Tanner brought the kids and Chick A Lay breakfast which is soooo yummy. The theme for the activity was "Family History" and there were several stations each with its own activity. We loved the "Guess Who" game that Sister Bladh turned into her own family's faces! We bought 2 Guess Who games to do the same for our families. The missionaries taught a great lesson on Temple work. They kids had a blast with the temple cookie decorating, learning family history songs with cool instruments, and of course, the photo ops! They served mac-n-cheese and chicken nuggets for lunch and all in all, it was a HIT!

On the way home, I drove by a young woman who appeared to have passed out in the street. I turned around and hopped out to check on her. Turns out she was just homeless, high on drugs, and mentally ill. I said a prayer with her and tried to comfort her. Tanner came and gave her his left over Chick A Lay and she said he looked like her mom's evil son. ha ha (Don't worry, he got a haircut that very day) An older man from the neighborhood drove over and yelled at me for helping her and man, that was a whirlwind of emotions. But, on Monday, as I was driving kids to school, Parker had turned on Christmas MCO and I listened to Good King Wenceslas and just bawled. 

I did the right thing. 

Helping others is always the right thing. 

But maybe I will stop pulling over to help people lying in the street all over the place. 

That night we went to the Jergensen Halloween party and once again, it did NOT disappoint. Parker went to the dance with some friends but I danced with my friends at the party and the kids had a blast! Rayleigh even played a pick up game of football with the boys. She's so rad. Jack was totally in his element as an Among Us character. He was so into it and loved all the attention. He made friends with one of Tanner's coworker's daughter's, Dakota. So cute! It was a really good night.

On Monday, the kids didn't have school but they did have parent teacher conferences and they totally nailed them! They are both doing so well in school. Jack's teacher encouraged Jack not to be so chatty while the teacher is talking. Here we go! I'm gonna here THAT for 10 more years. Rayleigh's teacher absolutely adores Rayleigh and has a little "Daily Rayleigh" that she shares with her husband each night- just something sweet or funny that Rayleigh did or said that day. She said sometimes she questions what Rayleigh is thinking when she gets going on a project but she is never disappointed when she sees what Rayleigh has come up with. Rayleigh is a pheneomenal problem solver and I LOVE that about her. 

I'm soooooo thankful for GOOD teachers!!!!! They have no idea how much they mean to me as a mother and what their love and attention to my children does for ME, too!

Due to Parent/Teacher Conferences, the kids had minimum days all week. So we went to Disneyland and met up with the Mannings! So fun! The kids were sooooo cute together and it was so fun seeing my most favorite best friend!!!!

On Thursday, Parker went to MCO with Erika so I took the kids to the local Pumpkin Patch. $25 and 30 minutes later, they were done. HA HA Those pumpkin patches can be a rip off. They were only allowed to go down the big slide ONCE! What? But they had fun and we made the most of it! They are such stellar kids and always say "thank you" and pour over how much they love me and love that I take them places. 

We ended the night with an epic Boo Bath. I had the kids wait in my room while I filled up the tub with bubbles, threw in the spiders and glowsticks and I even added a surprise pumpkin for them to find. Then I turned the lights purple and blasted some Halloween tunes. It was so fun!

I love these kids and this super fun phase. There's nothing I would change! It's perfect.
