Sundance

It was a quick and easy drive from St. George to Provo. We stopped once in Filmore and I allowed each kid to choose their own treat at the pit stop. They thought that was incredible. Ella picked Ding Dongs, Rayleigh picked Cheetos, and Jack, predictably, picked mega stuffed Oreos. We were ahead of my parents so we did a big shop at Target before meeting them over at Carole's for the key. It was HOT and we were excited to get up to the Cottage and get settled.

The kids played in the playroom in the attic while I layed near them and read my book. Awwww, pure heaven. We slept well both nights and went for a few little walks. I said, "Shhh, everyone be quiet while we walk and we might see a deer. Oh look! A deer!" ha ha That was a great moment. It rained each day and cooled everything off so nicely. It smelled soooo good- like a reverse candle. Insead of lighting it on fire to make it smell good, you add water. We strolled down to the river and up to the horses. The kids spent HOURS building things with nature and using their imaginations around the Cottage. This age is perfection. We LOVED our time up in the mountains. 

It was nice being up there with my parents, too. They were kind and fun to be around. We made little healthy snacks throughout the day and spent one afternoon running through the rain at the Sundance Lodge where everyone picked out a little treat.

We watched on ZOOM as Audrey got her mission call to Columbus Ohio! Yay! I was worried about Kari because she has been so cruel and hurtful lately and I finally told her I needed to take a step back and that I wasn't going to communicate with her in the evenings anymore. Well, she shot back that SHE wasn't going to communicate with ME in the evenings anymore. But when I texted her on her birthday she was loving and kind. We broke the ice and that made me feel better. I've also been struggling with my friends.... I am finding that I'm just a little different in how I see the world and that's ok! I just need to take a little step back with them, too. Which is hard. I am grieving for sure.

I absolutely LOVE being in Sundance, though, and I'm so thankful for my time there with my kids. It's magical. And I was happy for the opportunity to be there without the business and chaos the rest of the family brings. Jon and Josi arrived on Thursday so Tanner and Parker flew in that day and we rented a house on the river! Amazing!
