Temple Date, Big Air, and Memorial Day
We had a pretty fantastic weekend! After Travis and Nicole left on their cruise with their kids, Tanner and I got ready to go on a temple date with Courtney and Robby. Parker had been out with friends and was a little bummed to have to come home and babysit. But he'd used AI to write his history papers and had to re write them so it was a fair consequence. We ate at Urban Plate and it was super yummy. But when we got to the temple, we were too late for the session! They let us slide in by the skin of our teeth and I was so grateful because I hadn't done an endowment session in a long time and it had changed significantly. We stopped for gelato at Fashion Island afterwards and talked about taking another trip to Hawaii together. So fun!
Straight from church on Sunday, we kind of broke the sabbath again by going to Big Air to celebrate Amelia's 6th birthday. But, we went as a family and I was glad we could support our sweet friend and show her some love! Amelia wanted a "tooth" theme which is soooo hilarious because all of the kids are losing their teeth lately.
The next day was Memorial Day. Parker and Tanner got up early and set up flags for Parker's fundraiser. Then Angel and her boys came over for tacos and swimming. I love when they came over! We had so much fun playing together. The food was delicious and the kids all played so well together. That night when Tanner and Parker were picking the flags up, one neighbor was drunk and wanted the flag left up. So they left it. But then a disgruntled ward member who hasn't been active was very angry and upset about a how disrespectful it was to leave a flag up in the dark. She stole the flag and took it home and Tanner had to go to her house at 10pm and pick it up!
All in all, it was a super fun weekend with friends!
