LA Day

We enjoyed a most excellent day in LA! 

First of all, though, in the morning, Parker and I met with his teacher at Starbucks and discussed his future and it is looking so bright! He can technically graduate high school after just one more semester and he's going to apply to BYU in the Spring! He currently has 35 college credits and will be taking 9 more next semester. He working, saving, and driving. He's picking up the slack at home, being a kind friend, and still attending the temple weekly. He sings his heart out at MCO and is always asked to carry extra responsibilities there. He's an amazing young man and I'm so proud of him!

So, after THAT, we drove to Universal Studios and while it was so fun and cute and decorated so nicely for Christmas, it was VERY crowded and the disability pass that I worked so hard on for Jack was not complete. We managed to still use it/sneak onto the Transformers ride and the Mario ride, which was fun. Rayleigh was called up to be a special volunteer during the Water World show and the packed crowed cheered her on so loudly! What a moment! We went over to Whoville and thought we'd see the Grinch but the wait was 2 hours. So we decided to sit down and listen to Cindy Lou read a story.. but she did so in Spanish. So..... after a few hours we decided to pick up some fettuccini Alfredo at Bucca Di Beppo and eat it in the car on the way to the LA temple. It totally hit the spot!

I thought the LA temple would be closed but the visitors center was open and there was a cute children's choir performing. We checked out all of the "light the world" trees and had a fun chat with the senior missionary at the front desk.  We walked around the temple grounds and admired the lights and it was a really nice way to spend a Monday evening.

But then we cruised over to Shelley's house and had the BEST night! Michael was there visiting and it was so good to see him! He and Parker sat for hours and talked about cars. The kids were super chill and I was so proud of the good behavior and the respectful way they conducted themselves at Shelley's. 4 kids at her place is no joke but they were truly such angels. Shelley was telling me all about her promotion with Dan Reynolds (she's now his PA) and how he sold his Malibu mansion for $20million and he gave her some of the furniture including a bed! We went to her room and sat on the bed for hours just talking and catching up. It was the best!

We stayed until 11:30 and didn't get him until after midnight but it was awesome. It started to rain a little bit and the street shone and the Christmas music played... the vibes were everything. I could not have wished for a better night!
